Conan the Barbarian is a very strange movie. Beside the main character and the Hyborian age/world (and the similarities are rather rough here), the story has nothing to do with any Conan story ever written by Howard. On the other side, it has an interesting view on philosophy and the most epic soundtrack ever, which makes it a masterpiece of its own.

Pagan Hammer - Ode to My Fathers

message 3954: by Matthew (new)

Matthew (mattical) Lol Janie... "Father's Warning" can be our bands first single... Or the beside. Whatever

message 3955: by [deleted user] (new)

Judging by the Cover, it could be an ode to Clint Eastwood's Flags of Our Fathers:

Will the lyrics tell the listener how father warned us not to waste our time by reading horror books?

One of my faves ;]

Have you ever seen the film, Devil's Playground? It's a documentary on the coming-of-age of Amish youth.

It has several songs from Aphex Twin: Selected Ambient Works, from both I & II.

Not normally high on my list to originally have seen but I was surprised how cool it is and the soundtrack is awesome.

Bavaria. German people and Bavarians alike are still arguing if Bavaria is actually a part of Germany or not. :Wumpscut: is a solo project by one individual named Rudy Ratzinger.

I had one of their albums. I used to get alot of imported cds from a now defunct store in Phildelphia, and I wish I'd kept them.

Very cool that you've seen it ;)

Before my Dino-Mac took a huge, dino-sized poop on me, I was in the process of putting together several podcasts/mixtapes, one of them being, Devil's Playground, since an official soundtrack was never released. Once I have my very own computer again (y'know...when I grow up) I will recommence on finishing it (& the others, of course).

:)

*I especially like the outro song, though very hard to come by (at least when I was looking into it). I think this is the right song info and all I have to go on (other than Shazam, of course!):

The Ballad Of The Broken Birdie Records (Ruxpin Remix II)
Written and Performed by Múm (as Mum)
Remixed by Jónas Þór Gudmundsson (as Ruxpin)

I'm already a fan of Múm, and even more so of Ruxpin, and still couldn't find it anywhere (back a few yrs ago) -- probably could find it now (I hope!).

It's a great one! I did a Depeche Mode Mix CD the other year, I just threw in songs that came to mind (I have digitized my vinyl collections of New Order and Depeche Mode - that's how far my nerdiness got me...). Quite a while later, I happened to check and to my surprise the album that had most included songs was "Masses". Never would have guessed (or even mentioned it early when asked to rank their records). Know better now!

Yes, between the gargoyle over the doorbell, the ominous pounding music and the Alien sculptures, our house is not for the faint of heart. A Giger tattoo would be awesome (and painful)!
