Joey wrote: "The Zombies - A Rose For Emily....I'm not actually listening to it but it is playing in my head"Didn't know there was a song with that title. Have you read the short story by Faulkner?

It will always be a great album to me, though I understand the dated bit.

Got a weak spot for this one too, I usually forget about the impulse to put something else on about half way through "More Than This"

Denial of God - A Night in Transylvania
A Fascinating black metal band.

I know lots you don't care for Tom Waits, and I agree about some of his anvil-pounding and loud-speaker singing songs, but to me he has written some beautiful songs. These are a some of the saddest but most beautiful songs I know of. A few pints might help. https://youtu.be/EtLVXBqfqBY

For Frank's/ Raindogs/Swordfish alone he should be lauded - and I'm very fond of his anvil/loudspeaker stuff - Hoist That Rag is glorious. A few pints only makes them sweeter. Great pick my friend - I'll raise a glass to you as I play them.

I was late on the scene and never really appreciated him until I heard "Closing Time" and that was all it took. I also enjoy Picture in a Frame and House Where Nobody Live What's He Building in There, (Looking for) The Heart of Saturday Night is another beautiful song, Don't Wanna Grow Up . Enjoy your pints. Cheers

Add Joy Division/New Order, Frank Black/Pixies and Lloyd Cole and you've got everything I think is essential for living.
Then I have a gazillion other things that I enjoy of course!
Wild Child - Lou Reed
Symphonique #3 (Ode to Venus) - Moondog
Gardenhead/ Leave Me Alone - Neutral Milk Hotel
