Weird. I'll have to check that out.

The Jarmusch movie? I haven't, llibrro. I saw the White Stripes in Belfast, supported by the New York Dolls and Peaches - great night.

Great choice Thomas, but you could combine the two:
This Mortal Coil - Song To The Siren
features Liz Fraser's stunning vocal on this excellent cover of the Tim Buckley track

Lucky effer. NEW YORK DOLLS?! Didn't they all die in 1972? Except David Johansen I guess.
I ask about "Only Lovers..." because they (vampires) are joy riding around the deserted streets of Detroit through the abandoned neighborhoods and houses and out of the blue Tom Hiddleston turns to Tilda Swinton and says [there's the house where Jack White grew up]. That might only be funny to a music movie nerd.

Me too, Janie. I loved "Only Lovers Left Alive" and "Night on Earth." Some folks just don't get it though.

I think Arthur Kane died a few weeks before the gig and, if I remember rightly, he was replaced by Izzy Stradlin of Guns n Roses, but Johansen was still there - all 5 stone of him! Night on earth is a great movie.

Jim Jarmusch's movies are so deliciously off-centre. Night on Earth was one of my favorites. I worked for his sister while I was in art school.

Did you meet him? Or Tom Waits? Apparently they're buddies. I think Tom was in one of his movies, too.
Ever seen Holy Motors, Janie? Nothing to do with Jarmusch, but wow, what a film. Watched it again last evening.

No - I wish I could have met either or both of them. The movie by J. Jarmusch that featured Tom Waits was Down By Law (1986). I haven't seen Holy Motors, but it looks like a good one. How about Bagdad Cafe?

I will, llibro! BTW, Bagdad Cafe is directed by Percy Adlon. Jack Palance has a great part!

Agreed.
Katatonia - Discouraged Ones

Ekel, I like this (Katatonia) - it's kind of gothic and moody.

I wanted to comment on this, but cannot make a coherent one. The Reid brothers made something totally unique here I think.
