That's funny. :) the lyrics in that song are pretty goofy. The guitar is so hypnotic and relaxing in it that it's one of my favorite Smiths songs.

Yes, I hope so! Sorry I didn't reply sooner. I've been a bit out of touch w/GR and raced through my updates and didn't realize I had older ones I was notified about.

RE: dubstep etc. Regardless, I like a lot of different stuff within my genre parameters and will probably like Beatundercontrol! I do know my genres but artists that fall under dubstep can be surprsing and confusing and I'm not as knowledgeable with it as the others I mentioned.

Hope to see you on discogs!

This is nice, Thomas! Who is the singer? He sounds familiar."

Maybe you heard him in one of the Twilight movies? Or possibly because his voice is not entirely different from Interpol...though I thought that more in the beginnning than now. Just thought I'd interject!

Michael Fierce (michaelfierce) | 542 comments Janie wrote: "Siouxsie And The Banshees - Cities in the Dust"

I went to see John Grant (originally from The Czars) in concert last nite - a birthday present from my close friend & singer in my band - and we were blown away to see that the "legendary Budgie", drummer of Siouxsie & the Banshees, was his drummer, who worked on his newest album, *Grey Tickles, Black Pressure*.

Not only was the concert amazing, I was one of a small handful of people who talked with Budgie after the show for a bit. I mentioned how I saw him w/Siouxsie when Love & Rockets opened up for them 20+ yrs ago. He said he just ran into David J (originally from Bauhaus, then L & R) and how he and his brother, Kevin Haskins (Bauhuas, Tones on Tail, L & R) told him they were working on a new project together.

Excitedly, after walking outside, my friend John wanted to meet John Grant, who is one of his FB friends, so we hung out as a dwindling group of 6, and some roadie walked out and asked if anyone wanted one of Budgie's drumsticks. I was one of three who got one! We gave up on meeting John Grant. My John went to get the car (since I'm handicapped) and after he pulled up and parked, got out, and right then John Grant came out and we got to talk to him for a sec, mentioning we've been fans since his first official release with The Czars. He was a bit surprised by that and a super nice guy! A lovely man to be sure.

All in all, it was a PERFECT night.

Hmmm, I don't know that album but been a fan since their beginning.

I also like Broken Bells a lot and one of their songs is on one of my most downloaded podcasts, *Happy Haunting Ground* - part 2 of my *Ghosts of the Virgin Suicides* tribute to Air's *Virgin Suicides* soundtrack.

*I'll have to check this Shins album out :)

The info sounds interesting. I don't have sound on this computer but what I just read about them, + being on 4AD + being talked about in the same breath as Beach House (who I love and have seen live) all sounds like I might like or love these guys. I knew their name but not their music. Will check out soon.

Thnx for mentioning them on here!

Me too. Clive Barker was the nicest of all the authors I've met.
