If you like Bon Iver you would probably like Benoit Pioulard (check out his Folk/Pop album, Précis - I like a lot - and btw he is one half of the band Orcas - another fave) & you might also like Sleep Party People (i helped on the very last stage of the production on his record Floating -which I'm proud to say made the Huffington Post's Top 20 Best Albums of 2014, link. (and aww jeez, I mighta mentioned that to you once before(!) ~ how shameful of me! ;I

I was lucky enough to meet him on one of his birthday's in Pittsburg (his brother is in the orchestra there) and he gave me permission to use one of his quotes in a horror film I was making. He is so sweet. And I'm friends w Billy Angel - who was one of the Aliens. I have yet to see him in concert though I am dying to since he is back on tour with his son!!!

Aw gee thanks Janie! I know I get carried away and you are being way too kind but I just like to share bands and don't blog anymore (+ I have no sound on this computer!) and when I see people like y'all into what I'm into I can't help but want to put a spotlight on all the unknowns that you should check out.

Halls - Ark (Indie Pop/Modern Classical w/glitch drums & field recordings -- think of a more cutting-edge Brendan Perry of Dead Can Dance or This Mortal Coil but with a singer more similar to Ola Fløttum, singer of The White Birch & Portrait Of David. *This album was recorded in several churches).

Agreed! I love OMD and the earliest stuff most of all; Red Frame/White Light, Bunker Soldiers, Messerschmitt Twins... what's not to love? :)

Did you catch the "Dazzle Ships At The Museum Of Liverpool"? On Spotify now, sounds really good! The CD/DVD is back for sale late this month, I think I must snag a copy then.

I would never want to diminish the man in black, but I see this cover version referred to so much that I need to point out that Trent's own version is way superior imo. Especially as the perfect finale to the entire Downward Spiral. That's what I'll be listening to very soon :)

Synthpop from the 80ies is always highly anachronistic, but OMD are an extraordinary band. The new stuff is great, too, but I haven't checked the middle phase yet.

Can I tip you about Swedish electronica act Beatundercontrol? (I just *had to* rise to that challenge!). Seriously, wow, that kind of dedication is impressive. Are you a collector to? I am (at a modest but serious scale) - my other hangout is Discogs.com.

I like these sites very much as they represent two of my biggest interest, but they are notoriously hard to combine, on discogs a thread about interpreting a single doodle etched in a vinyl record run-out can live for some time - here people add books "because the cover kind of reminds of the one I've got".
