Getting to Know You

what are you currently listening to?

A string quartet I composed under my original name. Unfortunately, it was done with computer MIDI, so it sounds rather artificial; the glissandi in the first movement can be quite painful--I regret that I couldn't make them sound better.

Never heard of this Arkenstone fellow before, but I guess I'll have to correct that.

I personally found this album to be a huge mess, and what's worse it's one of those things where if you say you didn't like it people insist "You just don't get it." and say condescending tosh like "It's an album for intellectuals." Even after reading Miles: The Autobiography I'm not 100% sure the whole album wasn't just a rushed out in-joke by a notoriously snarky jazz curmudgeon.

Well. I am not an intellectual, but I do believe this album is rousing while doing housework. Puts a li'l zazz in the dusting routine.

The title track and 'John McLaughlin' are the highlights in my opinion.

Now when you're outed Mawr, please tell us something of your works! My fav after a quick browse is 'Lucille'; a nice mix of Blancmange, Foetus and Tuxedomoon. And a large helping of Mawr I'm sure! (about the only thing I'm sure of, please feel free to correct me on the rest).
