Love that one! A song with nothing but corporate speak done in the style of CSN&Y is genius.
Lately I've been buying and listening to albums by some of my old favorites who have been putting new albums out.
Lately I've been buying and listening to albums by some of my old favorites who have been putting new albums out.Toad The Wet Sprocket-- New Constellation
The Fixx-- Beautiful Friction
Both albums are excellent.
Both bands are out touring. I just saw the Fixx. They were doing a request tour where you could tweet them or e-mail them song requests. I just saw them last week. They would bring out an envelope with each request and read it out loud, then play the song. It was a great show. They sounded better than ever because Cy Curnin has stopped drinking. Past shows he would drink wine and get pretty drunk and his singing was always off. Everything was spot on in this show and sounded spectacular. I hope they do a live album from this tour. They have never sounded better live.
Toad the a Wet Sprocket put out their album themselves using Kickstarter. They got a lot more money than they needed for the album, so it funded the tour. I heard Glen Philips interviewed and he says this is the first time they've gone on tour not carrying a lot of debt. Hopefully a lot of other bands with large fan bases will start using this tool.
