Michael, I plan to write your life story, provisionally entitled 'Fierce Creature' - the screenplay will undoubtedly suck, due to my limitations, but the soundtrack will shake this sorry world to its core.

Kudos Mawr!, It's been too long since I've blasted out a bit of Ian Anderson - digging out my vinyl even as I type

I hope it's ok to throw my 2 cents in and say, Sailing The Seas Of Cheese, Making Plans For Nigel - Cheesy EP's 1 & 2 (which have some of the best covers I've ever heard, particularly, the title song, Pink Floyd's Have A Cigar, Peter Gabriel's Intruder and The Residents' Sinister Exaggerator), and Les Claypool's soundtrack for Pig Hunt (of which I thought was an awesome low budge cryptid horror film about a giant killer pig -which is a sub-genre in itself; Razorback, Prey aka Proie, Chawz aka Chaw) -the song Boonville Stomp from the movie was released on his album titled, Les Claypool's Duo De Twang. 'Nuff said.

Oh you're funny. And I haven't read your books yet but I have 'em on my list and they've got some good critique and I'm thinking it would turn out to be, at the very least, a good popcorn movie. Well, that is, if you include cryptids in it. Other than me, of course.
*Oh! And just as long as it has the part where I almost got run over by a coked up Daryl Hannah in an alleyway in San Francisco.

I'm new to them too, Stephen. Someone recommended that I start with this album. Take Fierce Creature's advice. :)

I love Thievery Corporation. One of their songs, Beautiful Drug, is on one of my Ghosts of the Virgin Suicides podcast/mixtapes.

Epic/Symphonic Black Metal from Italy, themed on Tolkien. Strangely enough, the lyrics are not in English or any of the languages designed by Tolkien, but Latin.

I don't know Goblin's music too well. Can you recommend a song or two of theirs?

Goblin's most famous scores are for the original Dawn of the Dead (directed by George Romero) and Suspiria (directed by Dario Argento). Both are excellent but very different from each other.
The stuff that most reminds me of Gentle Giant is 1 of their 2 non-soundtrack LP's titled, Roller. Nearly every song is stellar.
Maybe the best song example would be the 1st song from Profondo Rosso (aka Deep Red) that John Carpenter openly admitted to being inluenced & inspired by when writing the famous theme song for Halloween. I also love their 2 songs from the Chi? soundtrack. Their most famous other than Profondo Rosso main theme are the theme song for Suspiria and L'alba Dei Morti Viventi from Dawn of the Dead. All of those can be found on Goblin - Their Hits, Rare Tracks & Outtakes Collection 1975-1989. A collection that I have listened to hundreds of times :)

Goblin--Roller (full album)
This is on Michael Fierce's recommendation. :)

I won tix to see Iggy Pop back in the late 80's. He was awesome. I am convinced he has more veins than anyone else on the planet. Or any other planet, for that matter. The opening band was an unknown act who handed out cassette tapes of their first 3 songs titled, We Die Young. You mighta heard of them before: Alice In Chains. Though I'm not as big fan of them these days, back then, they blew my mind!
