Another nice choice, I thought for a full 10 seconds before realizing I could never select a single one.
One coming to mind during this time, however, was this one (and certainly this particular version!): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xJncH...

I read about a campaign to name Cork Airport after Rory Gallagher. What's the latest on that?
He wore his plaid flannel shirts and played a beat-up old Strat. Not a drop of glitter anywhere. Genius.

'Cause he wrote the book of the seven seals. :)

Yeah, there's a petition online but I think that's as far as it has got - it'll probably end up being named after a new strain of turnip (in Gaelic of course, all the better to make American tourists think it 'quaint') - the Irish love playing the rural schmaltz card, and pretending 'The Quiet Man' was a fly on the wall documentary.

ZZ Top is one of the coolest sounding bands ever."
Indeed. They'll be in Deutschland in July. Hamburg, Dresden, Koln. Are you going? Guess where I'll be Sep 24? And with Gregg Allman. It'll be like going to heaven and seeing Jesus AND Buddha waiting for you.

Hodor!

Earlier I was listening to Nina Simone's "Sinnerman".

I was just being silly. I didn't understand at first the seven seals thing then I figured it out. I haven't read the books either, but the shows are awesome. I borrow DVDs from the library.

I first heard this on the HBO series "True Blood" but I found it yesterday on Amazon Music.

Had time to listen to this just once. I can hear all sorts similarities to Led Zeppelin, Eric Clapton and Cream, Robin Trower, but not sure who was doing the influencing. Not that it matters. Jimi Hendrix, in so many words, called him the world's greatest guitar player. Pretty high praise. Clapton said Rory got him interested in Blues again. Brian May of Queen says he owes his guitar sound to him. So based on that I think its Rory's influence I'm hearing in the other bands rather than the other way round. I think he's probably a grossly underrated and overlook musician and guitar player. It takes more than one listen to appreciate songs fully, but "A Million Miles Away" (https://youtu.be/O6UkewH7WZ4) and "Walk On Hot Coals" had me from note one. The video of "...Hot Coals" is just astonishing: https://youtu.be/Lxw51M7wAGk. No way that was 1973. And if anyone makes a biopic I vote for James McAvoy to play Rory.
Add "Tattoo'd Lady" to that list.
