I see a lot of authors run into a wall because they allow self doubt to beat them down. My advice is to just write the story, and worry if it is good afterwards.

You don't have to give your story plot away just tell them a bit about your character. And see what they think would be good.
I find that sometimes just sitting and watching a movie or relaxing would help too with writer's block. It might be different for every person but i thought i might share what helps for me.

Definitely agree! (Except the red wine part...legally im not allowed:p) but im guilty as charged of day dreaming a whole chapter out or meditating for long periods at a time.

Now I need to keep the mood going for my other WIPs that means keeping work in its place

Another thing I will try if a story is really stumping me is to jump to another story idea that I have. Sometimes just that shift of gears can inspire you to break through that block when you go back to it. Then again, maybe not. I'm currently juggling four different stories!
