Jayda Okay, so they're the same basic idea - vampires, werewolves, supernatural powers, etcetera. So, which one are you for/against and which one is better?

I'm personally a fan of both. It's nice to be able to watch one (originally, before Twilight became a movie) and to be able to read another.

My mom and I are Buffy nerds. I've loved Buffy longer than Twilight, so I might have to say that I'm more loyal to that universe. But I also love Twilight.

So, which one is better? Debate away!

Oh, and just for kicks, here's this absolutely hilarious 6 minute video. It's about Edward and Buffy. It's so funny xD You have to watch it!

Luz what is buffy the vampire slayer about???? never heard of it...so that just leaves me to say that i like twilight...

message 10: by Jayda (new)

Jayda You've never heard of Buffy?! :o
Buffy is about a girl who moves to Sunnydale, California and is the slayer of vampires, generally speaking, but also deals with these demons and everything. Sunnydale sits on top of a hell mouth so there's all sort of demonic stuff going on there. It's really difficult to sum up, considering there are seven seasons and it just gets more complicated than that xD

You should look into it - it's such an amazing show!

Liz (lizgore) | 3163 comments lol me 2 but it ain't my fav

message 43: by Jayda (new)

Jayda Buffy is probably my all-time favorite television show. Angel was alright, but Buffy was better in my opinion. But then I start thinking about all of the other amazing shows I've seen/watch and I just end up beating my head on the desk because I can't choose what show is my favorite.

Have you seen the new Joss Whedon show, Dollhouse?

message 44: by Liz (new)

Liz (lizgore) | 3163 comments no i haven't but i have seen most of the angel series

message 45: by Jayda (new)

Jayda Dollhouse is amazing. You should check it out when it comes back on this fall, and whenever the first season comes out on DVD. Joss is a freaking genius.

message 46: by Liz (new)

Liz (lizgore) | 3163 comments is it a new series? i have never heard of it.

message 48: by Liz (new)

Liz (lizgore) | 3163 comments cool what is it about

message 49: by Jayda (new)

Jayda (Copied from wikipedia)

Eliza Dushku plays a young woman called Echo, a member of a group of people known as "Actives" or "Dolls". The Dolls are people whose personalities and existence in the outside world have been wiped clean so they can be imprinted with any number of new personas—including semantic memory, muscle memory, skills, and language—for different assignments (referred to as engagements). The new persona can be an amalgam of several real people, and the end result necessarily incorporates both strengths and flaws from the template personalities. The Actives are then hired out for particular jobs, which can be anything from crimes to fantasies to the occasional good deed. On engagements, Actives are monitored internally (and remotely) by Handlers. In between engagements they are mind-wiped into a child-like state and live in a futuristic dormitory/laboratory, a hidden facility nicknamed "The Dollhouse". The Dollhouse is located somewhere in Los Angeles and is a subsidiary of a mysterious research group known as the Rossum Corporation.

The story follows Echo, who begins, in her mind-wiped state, to become self-aware.

The show also focuses on the employees of the mysterious "Dollhouse" and two other "Dolls", Sierra and Victor (played by Dichen Lachman and Enver Gjokaj), who are friendly with Echo. The names of Actives are simply letters in the phonetic alphabet. Although the Actives are ostensibly volunteers who work for a period of five years, the operation is highly illegal and under constant threat on one end from Paul Ballard (Tahmoh Penikett), a determined federal agent who has heard a rumor about the Dolls, and on the other end a rogue Active named "Alpha".
