Allison and Rumor
( Alright then. )Ryan cleared his throat to bring her back into this world. "I'm not exactly the best at finding places to get clothes for a ball, so you're going to have to help me out here," he said.
Ryan pulled up into a parking spot in front of the building that Kiernan pointed out. In the display window, there were manequins wearing sevearl outfits. Some wore sequin and satin dresses, and others wore tuxedos. He got out of his car then he walked over to Kiernan's side and opened the door for her.
Ryan walked after her then opened the door. When he did this, he discovered several clothes and several items within the store that, had he been human, would've had his curiousity struck.
Ryan found his way to the men's section. He hadn't usually been selective about his clothes he had worn prior to coming here. He sifted through several racks of tuxs then he found two that had caught his eye immediately. He draped the tuxs over his arm then he found his way to the men's dressing room.
Ryan closed the door to his own dressing room, then he hug the tuxs on the racks provided in the room. He undressed himself then he fitted himself in one of the tuxs. That familiar feeling of dejavu from before came back to Ryan. Why though? He'd never worn a tux in his life before.

Ryan wasn't too fond of the first tuxedo, then he found that the second one was more of what he was looking for...He wasn't really aware that he was looking for anything in particular in the first place.
Ryan stepped out of his dressing room to look at himself in a better mirror then he noticed Kiernan standing outside in the girls' dressing room beside the men's dressing room. He was at a loss of words when he saw her in what she was wearing. That, was a first for him. He walked over to her.
Ryan had finally found his voice when she had asked her how she looked. "You look..beautiful," he said. He didn't know where this urge came from, but he suddenly wanted to take hold of her hand that was holding onto her dress, and caress her cheek with his free hand. He remained where he was though, and didn't move at all.
"You do that," Ryan said. He hadn't thought to make a smart comeback to her calling him handsome since he was still amazed by how she looked. He made his way back to his dressing room then he closed the door behind him. He undressed himself then he put on his regular clothes. He came out with the tux of his choice draped over his arm, and his mask in his hand.
Ryan walked up to the counter to pay for his own tux and mask. When he had in his purchases in a bag, he waited beside the cash register for Kiernan.
"Well, unless you want be a burglar, I suggest you pay for what you plan on getting," Ryan said with a smirk.
"That depends if you feel like getting a hotel, or spending the night in your old house," Ryan said as he put his clothes in the back of his car then he closed the door and got in on the driver's side.
"Alright then," Ryan said then he pulled out of his parking spot and drove down the main road of the town until he found the closest hotel. This one was much nicer than the last one they were in.
Ryan followed after her after he parked his car. He walked into the hotel with her and saw that it was a woman working the front desk this time, and she didn't give Ryan a hard time when he said that he was checking into a room for two. She only smiled and handed him a room key. Ryan walked into an elevator with Kiernan, then exited it when they arrived on their floor. He used the key to open their hotel room door then he ushered her inside.
Ryan's lips tugged up at the corners from his smile when he saw her fall asleep almost immediately. He walked over to her bedside and took her belongings from her. "Thanks," he said then he hung her dress on a hanger in the closet, and he placed the shoes below the dress. He left her mask on her night stand. Ryan turned off the light in their room then he walked over his own bed. He slipped his shoes off of his feet, then he removed his clothes until he was only in his boxers. He slid under the covers of the bed and fell asleep.
Ryan woke up shortly after Kiernan did. He sat up in his bed, half imagining that he was back on a couch instead of this. The bed sheets slid away from him and exposed his topless upper body. He looked over to Kiernan and saw that she was awake. He smirked tiredly at her. "And here I planned to be the handsome to kiss you awake, princess," he said jokingly then he got out of bed.
"Fine with me. You still up naked in the mountains, so it's all good with me," Ryan said with a chuckle. He got out of bed and stretched his arms. The tattoos that he had on his arm and his left pectoral flexed when he did this. He relaxed his arms at his side then he looked over to her.
Ryan looked over to the one on his arm. He remembered waking up one day with them when he couldn't anything about his past. He sort of pieced together what his tattoos meant over time. "This one," he said showing her his arm "is a skeleton head, a guitar, and some wilted flowers. I know how to play music, and since I'm already dead, it sort of keeps me alive to know that I can do something that's different. The flowers were just a part of the deal to make it look cooler." He looked down to his left pectoral then up at her. "The one here is of a Phoenix. It's supposed to show I died and how I'm reborn as what I am now," he explained.
"I figured that you could use some time to be human and do whatever you like," Ryan said with a shrug. He'd been so preoccupied earlier that she would get in trouble with the police or the vampires that were after her. They hadn't had any trouble in a while, so he concluded that they were good.
"That sounds good," Ryan said then he grabbed his bag and went over to the bathroom. He closed the door behind himself then he slipped his boxers off and turned on the shower. He stepped under the hot water and washed himself. He soon finished and stepped out. He towel dried his hair then he put on a change of clothes. He brushed his teeth, then he stepped out of the bathroom.
Ryan grabbed the invitation off of Kiernan's bed. He inspected the envelope closely then he found himself looking at the address of where the ball would take place more closely. This sense of déjà vu was really starting to bug the hell out of Ryan. He set the letter back down on her bed then he sat on the couched and inserted the address into his phone. An image of a mansion came up.
"Yeah, that's it," Ryan said showing her his phone then when he looked over his shoulder- her face was right there. He wasn't the sort to be startled, but for some reason, seeing her that close, made him move away from her then get up from the couch. He tucked his phone back into his pocket.
Something inside of Ryan snapped, and he suddenly felt a sense of anger boil up inside of him. He snatched his phone from her hand, stuffed it into his pocket, and grabbed hold of Kiernan. He suddenly had her against the wall with her hands above her head, and Ryan's fangs were at their full length. He growled menacingly at her.
Ryan's eyes narrowed at her as if he wasn't able to see her when he first grabbed her. He blinked a few times, then he realized what position he was in right now. His fangs retracted and he let go of Kiernan. He walked away from her and stood by their hotel window. "That face.." he murmured. His hands pressed to the sides of his head when he felt a headache come on the more he tried to remember where he'd seen that face from.
Ryan nodded his head. There was an obvious pain in his eyes when he opened them and he turned around to face her. "Yeah, I know the guy somehow," he said. He felt more pain in his head when he tried to grasp on the memory of where he'd seen his face before. He shook his head and let his hands fall back to his sides. "I'm sorry I snapped at you like that. Did you still want to get some food?" he asked her.
"I'm fine. It'll pass over," Ryan said then he added "If I don't get to something right now, I might just have to eat you. We definitely should get going." Another bad joke, he realized.
Ryan was the one to smirk that time. "This is your home town, you tell me. You know this place better than I do, so whatever place was your favorite to go get something to eat at, we'll go there," he said then he grabbed his own jacket as well shrugging it on then he opened the door for her.
"Alright then. You're the navigator now, so you'll have to tell me where to go," Ryan said then he got in on the driver side and closed the door. He started up the engine once Kiernan was situated then he pulled out of his parking spot.
"Næ̀nxn," Ryan said with a teasing smile. "That's Tai for yes. When you live for as long as I do, you have a lot of time to learn some languages other than Spanish and French."
Ryan nodded his head and followed the directions. Soon enough, they pulled up to the Thai restaurant. It wasn't too crowded in the parking lot, so Ryan assumed that the place wasn't too busy tonight. He got out on the driver's side, then he opened the door for Kiernan.
Ryan followed after her into the restaurant. Ryan was greeted by the unfamiliar surrounding, but the smell of thai food was very familiar to him. A waitress came up to them and escorted them both a table. She handed them both menus when they sat down, as well as glasses of water. She walked off.
"It sounds like you and your mom were really close," Ryan said when he grabbed the menu and looked it over. He'd had Thai food in Thailand once before, and there was better way than to have cultural food from its country of origin.
"So can I assume that you know how to use chopsticks then?" Ryan asked her then he set his menu down as well when he figured out what he wanted to eat.
"You'd be insulting me if you thought I couldn't," Ryan said with a smirk then their waitress came back. She smiled kindly at Kiernan and welcomed her back to the restaurant. She asked if she wanted the usual.
"I'll take the fried Thai chicken with basil rice," Ryan said to the waitress then he handed her his menu. She nodded her head after also taking Kiernan's menu then she walked off.
"If they do, then we'll escape. I'm surprised that there wasn't any posters or telecasts of you in this city. I mean you're from here, so there should at least be something," Ryan said with a shrug.
"If I had to guess, I'd say that they're after you not because they think it was you, it's because you're the only lead they've got about who actually did it," Ryan concluded.
"Maybe you took a knife to her neck once, then you did it again in a different spot when you missed the jugular in the first stab," Ryan suggested.
"I'm just trying to see what the mind set of the cops is. I never said they were right about everything," Ryan said with a smirk.
"Okay then, put yourself in their shoes. You have no prior knowledge to vampires, and you're in the same situation as them. What's the cause of death?" Ryan asked her.
"Exactly," Ryan said then he used his chopsticks to eat some of his own food. "Wow, this pretty good," he admitted then he began to eat more.
"We need blood to survive, but we do have human desires and needs. One of them being able to eat food," Ryan said then he continued to eat more of his food and took a drink of his water. "Food and water aren't as important as blood though," he pointed out after he swallowed his water.
Ryan soon finished his plate of food as well as his water. The waitress came by and refilled his cup and asked if either of them was interested in having dessert.
Ryan shook his head as well, then took the bill from her. He paid the amount due, then he told her to keep the rest as a tip. She politely thanked them both and bid them a good evening. Ryan looked back over to Kiernan. "Time to get ready for a party with a vampire," he said.
Ryan walked over to his car, then he opened the door for her. Once she was inside his car, he closed the door then got in on his side of the car. As soon as Ryan was in the driver side, and he had started the car, he absentmindedly looked over to Kiernan. She looked nervous. "You're going to make it through tonight alright, okay?" he said to her.
Ryan suddenly burst out laughing from her comment about her being afraid of the humans there. "You'll be alright. It doesn't seem like this is only a vampire gathering, so you'll be just fine surrounded by other humans. The only thing you should be worried about is someone hitting on you there," he said.
"I've got a word or two to say to that man as well," Ryan said then he pulled back up to their hotel. Ryan parked the car then he opened the door for Kiernan. He walked back up to their hotel room and opened the door to their room. He stopped in place for a moment in the doorway, then he walked into their room. He could smell traces of vampire in here.

Ryan looked over to Kiernan when she kept her gaze focused on the trees that were a blur of green around them as they drove toward the center of town where the shops were.
