Liz (liz_the_librarian) Read a Classic (Cult Classics count) in January. Use this space to discuss the book you chose and to find recommendations. Don't forget to check out our Classics Bookshelf. It has some great recommendations for Classics and Cult Classics that the library owns.

To see the availability of an item: search our catalog here: www.infopeake.org.

Diane (dilarm) | 7 comments So great, since i recently checked out Walden by Henry David Thoreau.
I have really wanted to read it since I was there so many years ago.

Walden is a fantastic read, and I don't think it's too long, either! I remember reading it a few years ago, and the tranquility and laid back pace of the prose really struck me. Let us know how you like it, Diane!

Traci (tardis1974) I'm so glad you guys did this mini-challenge as I've had The Lord of the Rings box set on my shelf for ages. I'd been putting it off because, honestly, I found The Hobbit mind-numbingly dull. But I picked up Fellowship of the Ring, and I'm loving it.
