Anyone else ever read this? It was one of the first good length books I'd read in a long time. It was beyond my expectations and I thought it was excellent. I admit at times the reading was difficult and confusing but explained later on and once you knew what was going on you appreciated it all the more.
While you can read the synopsis for yourself I'll give a brief explanation of what it's about. It tells of the life of Vlad Dracul, Prince of Wallachia. It tells of his struggles and his many battles he faced. I myself realized that even though this was the man who Bram Stoker used to create Dracula I felt myself rooting for him. Perhaps others will or have felt the same way? Interested in hearing what others who have the book thought and for those who haven't read it yet, if you like Vlad the Impaler, a good take on History or Historic horror I suggest checking this book out.
I enjoyed this book very much. I was not really into the details of the impalings but the story was good. I don't know that I every rooted for Vlad but it was certainly a more humanizing way to look at the man behind Dracula.
