Here is the Iran stop in our 2014 Cruise!
Iran Map
We have three reads relating to Iran:

1. Medieval read of the legendary Shahnameh: The Persian Book of Kings starting February:
https://www.goodreads.com/topic/group...

2. Fiction read with the group. House Of The Mosque won the first poll! Hopefully we'll have time for one more novel from Iran...

3. Non-fiction read of your choice :)

The poll has ended today, and our winner is House Of The Mosque ! This will be our Iran novel, starting in early 2014. If your favorite didn't win, no worries! Hopefully we will have time for a second novel from Iran before we move onto Iraq. Stay tuned :)

Ardene (booksnpeaches) | 116 comments I am reading A Persian Requiem (Suvashan) by Simin Daneshvar for the 2014 Iran focus since my library owns a copy. If anyone else wants to join me, I've put a thread here.

Jalilah | 936 comments For my own personal choice I will be reading Persepolis: The Story of a Childhood very soon and I have also ordered the House of the Mosque and the Shamameh.

Cassandra | 71 comments Well I guess I finished reading Funny in Farsi: A Memoir of Growing Up Iranian in America which I'm going to count as a non-fiction read of my choice. I'll be starting in on When Baghdad Ruled the Muslim World: The Rise and Fall of Islam's Greatest Dynasty which finally arrived (darn polar vortex delayed shipping 3 days... it was such torture, lol). If I can find a copy of the Shahnameh or House of the Mosque at my library I'll try to read through those after I finish WBRTMW. If not I have a few other books around about Iran that I'll try reading.

MiA (mirhershelf) | 61 comments Hello everyone,

I didn't have the chance to participate in a few months and start the new year's tour with you. Hopefully, I can catch up with you in the second novel from Iran. I'm pretty enthusiastic about My Uncle Napoleon though. It'll be my first read by an Irani author.
