Edward, I felt like Jacob was the childhood friend(which he was), but was always suppose to stay that way, he felt more of a brother figure of Bella to me than a romantic interest.
I don't know. I mean, they both care for Bella, that's good. Hmm... Edward. Definitely Edward. Especially because of Jacob imprinting on Bella's child. I mean, awkward. But that would explain the attraction toward Bella since she would have the child he would imprint on. But then, Edward married Bella a bit too early to my liking. And having the child then, that just proved it was a terrible decision. There is actually a lot of bad things with Jacob and Edward. I honestly wish that Bella left them both. That would have broke everyone's heart in the end and so on but it would have been worse if Bella died in the end.

Team Edward forever!Jacob has a temper and is kind of manipulative. He does what's best for him and doesn't think about how it will affect Bella.
Edward is a gentleman. He always puts her first and does whatever he can to protect her, even when it means leaving. When it comes to making decisions, it's always HER choice. He doesn't force anything on her. If she wanted to be with Jacob, he would have let her go. Even though there are times that he tries to convince her to make a different choice, he ultimately goes along with what she decides.
Even through his occasional bought with jealousy, he still respects her and never forces himself on her. He has incredible self-control and refuses to ruin her virtue even when she insists. There's so much I could say, but I'll leave it at that.

This might be kind of long so...my apologies but I love this question and no one can change my mind.Team Jacob! Or team Bella goes through a good character development.
I did not like Jacob at first. At all. For the same reasons that others don't like him and I'd skip all of his perspectives and skim through most things that he was involved in but I read Stephanie Meyer's answer to a fan question about Bella and Jacob and it was her stating the character's tragic flaws and she said Jacob didn't have a tragic flaw. He had one goal and that was to save Bella's life and I looked at Jacob completely different since reading that.
He even says in his POV that he didn't care that she was choosing someone else over him and that he could handle that because it was only fair. But what he couldn't handle was her choosing to end her life for her first boyfriend and leaving behind her family. If anything, he was a great friend to Bella.
Everyone loves New Moon Jacob. He was the one to help her out of her depression and I'm sure that made Bella have some kind of attraction to him (which she did) because he was the only one that understood her and didn't judge her during that time. And was helping her feel better, I think that's why she fell in love with him. And Meyer said that she fell in love with him in New Moon but didn't realize it until the kiss in Eclispse.
His tragedies were excessive but he was desperate and Edward has taken it too far also like when he was physically controlling her after he came back from Italy. Taking her engine out of her car and having Alice kidnap her and he even left his hunting trip early just because Bella was with Jacob. It's funny in the books but imagine a really strong vampire, or realistically a really strong male behaving like this. You'd be scared. And sometimes Edward isn't truthful and it's obvious. Like when he said he was only concerned about her safety with the wolves. Yeah, if that were the case then he would've stayed where he was after his brother tried to kill Bella. No excuses for Jasper. He tried to kill her. His vampire side took over. I don't hold them to those standards because at the end of the day, Bella let both things slide. Even though she shouldn't have.
After reading the series more than once, I honestly feel like Bella's feelings for Jacob grew stronger but she just wanted to suppress them because her loyalty had always been with Edward. No other guy was worth her attention and then she falls in love with his best friend.
She cheated on Edward in Eclipse when Jacob "manipulated" her to kiss him. I put it in quotes because I personally cannot imagine falling for that and can't see how she did. But she was enjoying the kiss. So, at that point she was cheating. She also said something along the lines of "he stopped long before I did." So, she cheated.
I believe with Jacob, they had a pure, genuine, soul love. She loved HIM for how he always made her feel. Something that stood out to me in New Moon was when Bella hadn't seen Edward for like half a year and when she sees him trying to get himself killed, the first thing she thinks is "wow... I didn't do him justice at all. He's even more beautiful than I imagined..." And that's it. She went right back to obsessing about his looks. Then she goes without seeing Jacob for three days and she thinks "I missed hearing his voice. It brought a wave of nostalgia. Kind of like home-sickness."
That's a very loaded thing to say about your best friend instead of boyfriend. I'm not entirely saying that she should've chosen Jacob. But, I think it would've been beneficial for her to at least give it a chance. I honestly hate when authors throw in another love interest and drag it, just to give the audience nothing.

ED.WARD. I lOvE him! Also, team Jacob as her best friend tho. Like, I think That edward is the best love match, but jacob should still be her best friend. with that said, it's bellas life and she gets to choose.

Team Edward! especially after reading Midnight Sun! It made me love him even more. I think that I liked so much was getting to see his side of things and it made things that happened in the other books make more sense. It also got me thinking about his wedding speech and the reason behind it.
Both are good choices. Edward is Bella’s soulmate and he’s protective but he is overbearing and cold (literally and figuratively 😂) Jacob is kind and relatable but immature. If I had to pick one it would be Jacob 🤍🩷
