It was good a typical Harlequin romance , finished it last night!"

Got to love typical Harlequin Romances every once in awhile! I haven't read one in YEARS.... How sad is that?

Hayley (mrsjohnson1985) | 718 comments I'm currently reading The Handmaid's Tale by Margaret Atwood and just started The Maze Runner (Maze Runner, #1) by James Dashner .

Just finished This is Where I Leave You by Jonathan Tropper , which I thought was a great book.

And so was The Handmaid's Tale, so Hayley's on a "books that are movies" kick.

Kit★ (xkittyxlzt) | 1416 comments I never knew Handmaid's Tale was a movie! That book made me uncomfortable, lol. I really liked it, but the whole scenario made me squirm a bit.

message 415: by Lisa Kay, Moderator (new)

Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 20787 comments I'm almost done with Sandstorm (Sigma Force, #1) by James Rollins , which isn't a romance, but an action-adventure.

message 416: by ShoSho , Moderator (new)

ShoSho (shoshost) | 12263 comments I started Forged by Desire (London Steampunk, #4) by Bec McMaster last night after finishing The Curious Case Of The Clockwork Menace (London Steampunk, #3.5) by Bec McMaster

message 417: by Kit★ (new)

Kit★ (xkittyxlzt) | 1416 comments I'm just shy of halfway through it, I'm actually liking it a little better than #1 so far. The heroine is very likable, her attitude is great. Sam's ok too so far ;)

message 418: by KarenF (new)

KarenF (cleocleveland) | 458 comments I just finished The Pirate's Secret Baby by Darlene Marshall - loved it - not quite as much as the last one but a great, fun read.

It may have my favorite first line from a hero to a heroine ever: “I did not request a mistress of discipline last night, did I?”

I try to use the randomizer(I don't usually read the selected book :P) or I give my to-read list to hubby to select my next read (I don't read what he tells me either ) and I end up buying and reading something not on my TBR list :D

Phoenix (Online Elf) | 4358 comments Well, I can't figure out how to turn it off and on. I don't have a gearshift and my tabs are still on the right, not the left, like they show and talk about.

message 436: by Kit★ (new)

Kit★ (xkittyxlzt) | 1416 comments Mine also. So far it is very interesting. I'm curious as all get out about Matthew's situation, what's going on there.

message 437: by Lisa Kay, Moderator (new)

Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 20787 comments Yes, that is the big mystery. Actually, this is my favorite book by AC. I was skittish of her other books, but just loved this one.

message 438: by Kit★ (new)

Kit★ (xkittyxlzt) | 1416 comments That's good to know you liked it :) If it proves good for me, I'll most likely try another by her at some point.

message 441: by Hayley (new)

Hayley (mrsjohnson1985) | 718 comments I've been MIA for a bit!

LK - YES, my friend and I that Buddy Read a lot are reading books that are about to be movies (hence - This is Where I Leave You by Jonathan Tropper and The Maze Runner (Maze Runner, #1) by James Dashner )

We actually didn't know The Handmaid's Tale by Margaret Atwood was a movie till after we chose it. We are slowly working our way through Classics right now... This is our third one so far in a two month span. We first read A Clockwork Orange by Anthony Burgess and then The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald . We figured, if we read Classic books together, we'd enjoy them move and be able to compare notes :) So far, we are enjoying it!!!!

message 442: by Hayley (new)

Hayley (mrsjohnson1985) | 718 comments I'm still reading The Maze Runner and The Handmaid's Tale, so no new updates here on the book front. (I read Kit's comments earlier about HT and yes this book is definitely odd.... It has some uncomfortable moment's in it for sure...)

message 443: by Abby (new)

Abby | 63 comments I'm reading Vampire Mine (Alpha and Omega, #3) by Aline Hunter

message 444: by Lisa Kay, Moderator (new)

Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 20787 comments Thanks for the update, Hayley. Pretty funny the book/movie connection wasn't intentional.

I've heard of that author, Abby, but haven't tried any of her books, yet.

message 445: by Hayley (new)

Hayley (mrsjohnson1985) | 718 comments I know LK, I'm like wait, this is a movie too?! We just saw a preview for a movie and we plan on reading the book this month, it looks like an interesting movie.. So we shall see... It's called White Bird in a Blizzard: A Novel
