I read it when I was a teenager (probably in a day or 2 ), I don't remember it being long but it's chunkster ! But I remember loving it. Good luck , Hayley!

Hayley (mrsjohnson1985) | 718 comments I hope you enjoy Dark Places ShoSho!

So far, it's good, I've read the first 5 Chapters. A lot of people said it's very tedious and hard to read but I don't find it too hard to read at all... At first, we had the bridged version, which was SUPER easy, but we knew something was off, so we got the unabridged version that has all the Chapters in it.

But, so far, so good :)

I just can't help myself , I have to read them! Even though I don't give them high stars!

ShoSho (shoshost) | 12263 comments #6 was my least favorite ! hopefully you like it better than I did.

Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 20787 comments Yes, ShoSho, I have to read them, too. I did skip #2, I think, even though I own it.

Lol I just read my review of that one ! Made me lol :D

Hayley (mrsjohnson1985) | 718 comments Thank you LK! I was reading Sparknotes on it, which helps too. Some parts are fast paced and easy to read, and then it falls into a lull of a bunch of gibberish that I have to reread a couple of times LOL. BUT this book was written a long long long long time ago..... I've never seen any movies about it either... How shocking right?

message 461: by Hayley (new)

Hayley (mrsjohnson1985) | 718 comments Oh and I am starting to read Tamed (Tangled, #3) by Emma Chase today!

message 462: by Lisa Kay, Moderator (new)

Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 20787 comments It was a serial when it first come out, I believe, Hayley. It has a TON of characters. A cast of thousands.

Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 20787 comments I'm currently listening to The Witness by Nora Roberts - and wow! Loving it!

message 464: by Hayley (new)

Hayley (mrsjohnson1985) | 718 comments Oh yeah LK? Hmm. I heard the movie is a great though.

I may have to check out "The Witness"... Everyone raves about it, well at least all my friends on here do.. I just looked and everyone rated it 3 or above !

message 465: by Lisa Kay, Moderator (new)

Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 20787 comments I'm really enjoying it, Hayley. It is better than I thought it would be. While I'm a big J.D. Robb fan, I'm pretty middle-of-the-road on Nora Roberts. But, this one is excellent, so far.

ShoSho (shoshost) | 12263 comments And I recommend The Search by Nora Roberts by NR.

message 472: by Hayley (new)

Hayley (mrsjohnson1985) | 718 comments I know, I know! I want to read Naked In Death, BUT it's such a long series, I didn't want to embark on it yet LOL.

Maybe I can work in The Search though since it's a stand-alone hehe.

Nicole (nicolels) | 24 comments I'm currently reading an ARC of Storm (Ashes & Embers Book 1) by Carian Cole by Carian Cole. I like it so far, especially the H, but the h is a different story. She can be amusing, but then turn right around and say something so ridiculous I just want to high-five her....in the face....hard

message 474: by Hayley (new)

Hayley (mrsjohnson1985) | 718 comments Nicole - I just read a couple of reviews about that book and a lot of them say that the heroine is super annoying lol. Guess you aren't the only one!

Hayley (mrsjohnson1985) | 718 comments I just finished Tamed (Tangled, #3) by Emma Chase which I absolutely adored. Now, still reading The Count of Monte Cristo by Alexandre Dumas and will be starting Pandemonium (Delirium, #2) by Lauren Oliver soon!

Oh, I've got to get back to that series.

message 487: by Lauren (new)

Lauren (laurenjberman) Reading Dark Prince (Dark, #1) by Christine Feehan - I've realized what it is about Feehan's writing that bugs me. Too much telling and not enough showing. Nevertheless, its turning into a quick read despite the length.

Listening to The Girl On Legare Street (Tradd Street, #2) by Karen White - I love Aimée Bruneau's southern accent.

Kirsten (kmcripn) Just finished listening to The Witness by Nora Roberts by Nora Roberts. Would've loved giving it a higher rating, unfortunately I think she pedalled back at the end of the book. You can read my review here: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...

I read your review, I didn't get what you meant about losing the tension and backpedalling.
Elizabeth/Abigail finally found something worth staying put for and someone who could protect her. Being alone, always running and being super vigilant has to be hard.

This was one of NR's better romantic suspense books (in my opinion) and I was surprised because I didn't enjoy Eve or rourke.

message 500: by Kirsten (new)

Kirsten (kmcripn) Not enjoy Eve or Roarke?? Say it's not so! I loved this book until she started tying up loose ends. It just seemed to pale in comparison to the first parts of the book.

I agree it's one of her better ones. I always feel she and J.D. Robb are two different people. Because the In Death books are INCREDIBLE and very addictive. And, I've never felt that way about Nora Roberts's books.
