My goals for this year are the reading challenges that I saw people do last year, specifically the name challenge and the alphabet challenge. It just seems like fun and I am being forced outside of my historical fiction genre and into many others with both of those challenges.
Rachel....give the Game of Thrones series another shot...I can't put it down!

I also want to break out of my habit on falling back on already familiar books and authors. When I was younger I would read just about anything I could get my hands on, and I got a lot out of a lot of books I would never have experienced had I stayed within my comfort zone. So that's kind of a goal for this year, too - I want to read at least a dozen books that I would class as out of my comfort zone!

@Jessica, I am taking on Les Miserables this year. I am going to just take my time with it and take breaks when I need to.

I'll have to start it and devote myself to it..With long books, if I take a break or read something else, I will completely lose interest! I wish you the best of luck! :)

Jane Eyre is on my list for 2014 as well.

absolutely. I admit the writing can be a little dry but the plot is incredible and well worth the time.

My goal is 52 books for an average of one a week. I have been making an effort to diversify, but I don't have any specific goals to do so.
