SOLVED. Lost magic library, towers and forks. [s]

This book has been on my mind. i know it's part of a series, it was fantasy, about a royal family, unique magic system (i want to say its almost based on bio domes, but not?), they found a hidden library that had been walled up, something about storms over mountains, i could swear there was something about an ancient tower too and the very end had a terrible carriage accident and one survivor. i have two quotes that i saved because i liked them:
