Yeah. but most of the fans now are TV fans - not book fans. And because of such huge differences, the TV will not filter down to the book sales.

The TV show actually dissuaded me from watching it or reading the books. The level of violence and literal character assassinations are just too much. I think I watched maybe 3 to 5 episodes in total.

But the people who were book fans before the show are still, I would imagine, mostly book fans, and will still buy the books regardless.

So while the TV show might not translate into an increase in book sales, I don't think it'll create a deficit, either.

The show did create a huge upsurge in book sales initially and as the show picked up popularity. Like, an ungodly increase in book sales.

You probably won't see a big increase in book sales going forward, but a good many of those that came on board after show exposure will remain and will buy the books. Not everyone, sure.

Although you might see a new generation of book readers, as there are people yet to be born that will be waiting anxiously on the final book's publication.
