Title: Sark
Author: Steve Price
Genre: Humorous, surreal space adventure
Formats Available: Pdf
Copies Available: 12
Pages #: 221
Review Due Date: January 5, 2014

Synopsis:

When the planetship Narcoma is devoured by cosmolocusts, only the moonship Sark and four members of the crew escape the destruction: Lett, with a lethal artificial arm; Lana, beautiful and fiery tempered; Davval, whose body parts can be removed and reattached; and Yennett, sexy and with a taste for adventure. Sark also has his own personality: lecherous and flippant.

Their only hope of escape is to fly through an entry portal into Turmoil Space then try to find an exit portal to get back into their own world. Beyond the entry portal, they find Teeter, a strange man who trades them a chart for toys. Equipped with the map, the group sets off on the dangerous trek. They encounter bizarre and dangerous situations and characters, including the head-pulp factory, the field of undulating ferrets, a derailed space train, a giant beehive in space, a time-reversal leech and Ambush Cacti.

Sark is intended as a light-hearted space adventure, with a sense of humour and a taste for the ridiculous.

Ayla (aylatheresa) | 166 comments I have a couple of weeks between classes, and I am a sci fi fan, esp. like quirky stories such as Douglas Adam's "Guide to the galaxy" series or Piers Anthony Xanth series. So count me in. thanks, Ayla.
