Aussie Author Challenge 2014
Well done Janine! I have yet to read Let Her Go (I've got it reserved at the library though). Good to see you enjoyed it!

Thanks Brenda. My reading of Aussie authors has certainly increased over time.

This was a great little short story (only 80 pages) by an Aussie author, not at all what I was expecting, not predictable at all...very enjoyable.
Recommend for young and young at heart 4★s

Reviews on this book likened it to Charles Dickens Great Expectations, but I couldn't judge that, not having read it! (my bad I guess)

Celtic Blood

Enjoyed the story but really struggled with the lack of editing. Words missing & words & punctuation in the wrong spots.:(

Not sure where I'm up to - I think it's #38 but I haven't read any classics yet so I'm not finished.

I'm sure you'll enjoy it Julie, as long as the lack of speech marks doesn't bother you.

It would only bother me if...as I found recently...there were several characters speaking at the same time and switching between time frames, very confusing and utterly frustrating.

M.C. have you made your own thread in the Author Spotlight section? You can promote your new release there :) Congrats as well!

I looked at this one. But was a bit worried that it might be an emotional read and I would be crying a lot :)

It didn't actually make me cry, but yes, it is quite emotional and confronting. I like sad books, sad songs, sad movies, though, I'm weird like that!

This book was quite a surprise. I always thought it was about nuns, not dept stores saleswomen and it was quite sharp and humorous. Quite delightful!

That's funny about the nuns! I would never have thought it was about sales assistants from that title.

Absolutely :)
You know it is funny, around 10 years ago I would read hardly any Aussie authors. Just ignorance as to what was out there. Now I read so many and over so many genre. I actually have overseas friends pouting because they can't get the books, rather than the other way around :)

Do you have a personal favourite out of all of those?"
They are all good but if I did had to narrow it down then it would be from Frontier Incursion, The Last Shot or Deserving Death.
