I loved it!!
See my review here: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...

Thanks Brenda, it was a really good read and you know, I have had this book for many years and am sure I had read it but it was still very good. Colleen McCulloughs attention to detail is so subtle that much of it could well be overlooked....incredible. I was very impressed :)
As I said, maybe not everyone's cup of tea but certainly has loads of undeniable merit.
By the way, my hardcover version has a different cover than those here.

I read my first Colleen McCullough earlier this year - The Thorn Birds - and loved it and now I want to read more. I was thinking Bittersweet might be the next I read, but your review of Angel does sound good...

Can you find a link for the same cover as yours, with the same ISBN as yours? I can add it then:)

This one sounds good - might have to add it to my ever increasing TBR pile

Thanks for that Julie - could you also put it in the online book sales thread too please? Thanks!

The Bottom Line Diet: Foolproof weight loss forever
Very logical, clinical way of looking at weight loss. Hopefully it will help...

I really hope you enjoy reading this book if you do. It was definitely the best book I read during 2013 by far!

I really enjoyed I Am Pilgrim when I read it last year (https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...) and the author Terry Hayes is an Australian author. He was a former journalist for the Sydney Morning Herald and has written screenplays for several Australian movies including Mad Max 2.

I'm really looking forward to it Michelle...I have it ready and waiting :)

Thanks for that Carolyn, I asked because he was born in the UK but I don't know when. If he is Australian now then he is definitely my choice for new release! I'm looking forward to reading it, hubby read it and was very impressed :)

Lights Over Emerald Creek by Shelley Davidow Four stars.

Julie Terry Hayes is an Aussie author but the book was released last year - it needs to be released in 2014 to be used as a new release. You can use him as a male author or if crime is a favourite genre then as a crime category. If you decide to go on beyond bronze then he can be a general Aussie author :)

Thanks Sally, well at least I can still fit him into this challenge one way or another ;-)

I think I see what you're saying Julie - he was born in the UK and might not have Aussie citizenship? I thought since he lives and works in Australia that he would count as an Aussie author but you'll have to check with the mods on that one.

In this instance he was born in England and emigrated as a child and has remained here ever since - he has a wife and 4 children so I am guessing that is pretty committed to being an Aussie :)
By the way I Am Pilgrim is his debut novel so if you hadn't got one for that you could use this as the debut novel can be from any publishing year :)

Thanks Sally, much appreciated. I will lock him in as an Aussie Authour :) I could use this one as a debut novel in exchange for one I had chosen but don't yet have..if that's ok?

I've heard good things about this - would love to read it - hope you liked it

But a friend of mine started to read it and didn't like it at all. Shows again we're all different. Hope you enjoy it, Sally.
