Jaze walked in, stopping at a table to set her notebook and broken pencil down. She looked at the shelves, fighting a sigh. Hopefully, there weren't that many records to look through, but even if there were, she'd probably try her best to look through them all.

Vyeron groggily walked over to a shelf. "Date of Birth?" he asked, trying to narrow it down. He could thin out how many files with specifics.

Jaze took a moment to respond, trying to remember what her dad had told her. Each year, at least when she'd been with him, they'd celebrated her mother's birthday together. "May 1, 1969," she answered.

[Drax]

"Last name?" Vyeron asked, yawning as he went to the people born during that month. There was still a shelve's worth of files to chose from, so far.

Walking over, Jaze didn't take as long to answer this time. "Valdez." She looked at the books, biting down on her lip. She felt bad for keeping him away from his bed, but she if she found anything out about her mother because of his help, she'd owe him a big one.

Vyeron pulled out a section and set it down on a table, taking half of it for himself. "She'll be here, if anywhere," he murmured, opening his first file.

Jaze nodded and took one of the files from the other half, her half. She opened it silently and started looking through it, rereading everything twice. If her mother was in these files, she didn't want to miss it just because her eyes had skipped over it.

Vyeron was asleep on the fifth page, like he'd warned. He hoped he'd helped her out, at least.

Nothing. She'd found absolutely nothing so far. Jaze sighed quietly, glancing at Vyeron. She'd thank him again later, when he was conscious. Selecting another file, she opened it and began reading again, going over every word twice once more. Though this time, she did it thrice.

Jaze read the rest of the page, but that was all there was on her mom. No reason, no background, nothing. She pulled at her hair, but hey! At least she'd found something. She put away the other files, but kept the one with the information on her mom and left the library after glancing at Vyeron one last time.
