Cafeteria
Aidan follows Savannah to the cafeteria and he was definitely wrong about the school being "not too big" it was huge. Whatever they were cooking for dinner it smelled good. He hoped not everything was as formal as Savannah was.
Savannah motioned for him to follow her as she stepped into the dinner line. "It smells great, doesn't it?"
"Yeah." Aidan says absently as he stares around at the room. High ceilings with chandeliers dangling over head and nearly organized tables. He felt so out of place. He follows Savannab and continues looking around he accidently bumps into her because he's looking up," Sorry." he apologizes quickly.
Savannah held tightly to her plate as she tripped forward. She didn't fall, but nearly did. "It's alright," she dismissed him.
"Grab a plate," she whispered to him, pointing to his front.
Aidan watches her nearly stumble and feels like sighing to himself; great knocking people over now. Aidan grabs a plate and follows Savannah trying not to let himself get so easily distracted.
The line went by quickly, their plates eventually full of food."Follow me, unless you'd like to sit somewhere else," she told him, walking to a table near the middle, where a few people were sitting.
Half because he still felt bad about almost knocking her over and half because he didn't really know anyone else he follows her. He stays silent not sure what exactly to say. He never considered himself a person that would be daunted by a change of scenery. He'd never stayed in one place very long to begin with. But he realized he was going to be here for a while and he'd better get used to it.
The few people sitting at the table were Savannah's friends; a couple of the closer ones, at least. She chatted with them briefly, before introducing Aidan.
"This is another newcomer. His name's Aidan."
Aidan greets them with a small grin trying to be friendly. He imagined most of these people had years of experience and practice with whatever they did. He takes a bite of some of his food and is surprised with how good it was; not exactly an average school lunch.
After Veronica, Cass and Craig had introduced themselves, Savannah talked with them for a few, hoping Aidan didn't feel too left out.She then striked up a conversation with him. "How's your food?"
Aidan nods," Much better than I thought it would be." he says. He didn't mind so much listening to her talk to her friends; if anything it have him a sense of what to expect from the people here. He mentally tried to guess how old she was comparing how she appeared to what he guessed her friend's ages were, 17? 18?
"Will you be off afterwards, or do need more of a tour? I have someone to meet later, but I'll be happy to help before then."The time was around 6; her meeting was at 8.
Aidan shrugs pulling out his map," I'm not doing anything but I'm set." he says with a smirk. "Besides I don't want to bother you. You seem like the kind of person who runs on a pretty strict schedule."
Savannah hesitated, nodding. "I do have a schedule. I have to meet Ace at 8, but like I said, I have time to show you around. But of course, I don't have to, like you said."Cass added, "Yeah, her boyfriend Ace." Veronica giggled
"He isn't my boyfriend. Keep it together, Cassidy!" She raised an eyebrow, only heat forming slightly on her cheeks.
Aidan smiles to himself glad that she's now on the receiving end of such comments. "In that case I'll just give you the extra time to get ready." he says," Thanks for the offer."
Savannah gave him the same dead stare she'd given him earlier; he was getting that a lot."If you'd wish to join in on such childishness, you'd be a perfect match for Miss Cassidy. Though, she doesn't like soft men."
Aidan glares right back at her feeling his hands go hot and balls them into fists to control the urge to set her hair on fire. He wishes he stayed out in the storm. "But I'm sure you do, otherwise everything might not happen exactly as you plan it on your schedule."
((Like soft men lol just pretend he insulted her schedule because I couldn't find a good way to word an insult. It's not something I do much of personally haha))
((I know he was saying that he bets savannah does haha I understood you. Communication failure somewhere in all that))
Savannah raised an eyebrow. She could feel the electricity somewhere in the air- in her hair, what it always did when she was annoyed or angry."I am never off schedule. Now if you don't mind, I'll be going." She stood, threw her food out, and walked out of the cafeteria.
Her friends watched her slightly sparking hair disappear around the corner.
The three instantly turned to Aidan.
Aidan glances at them and bites his lip. He is quiet for a moment," That was probably a bad idea." he mutters. He goes to stand up and leave as well.
Cassidy scoffed. "Of course that was a bad idea. In case you haven't noticed, she doesn't take to well to insults. She's nice, always has been, always will be, but she can be down right dirty when it comes to arguing," she told him, her Southern accent easily identifiable. (Are you following me or just leaving?)
((Following that's why he didn't leave, only started to))Aidan didn't notice her accent before. It suited her. He sighs,"Well sorry but she drives me crazy. I know she's trying to be nice." he sighs. He was really screwing things up he'd already made enemies. Great.
Cass pushed a few fallen strands of ginger hair from her face, looking back at him. "You might wanna go see what's up."Craig laughed lightly. "And get shocked."
Veronica glared at him momentarily. "He's joking."
Aidan somehow doubted that he was joking. "Guess I should." he says standing,"Nice meeting you." he says and quickly takes care of his plate and follows after Savannah in the direction she'd left.
Roni leads Alex into the cafeteria with a grin. They make their way over to the lines and she grabs her a plate handing it to Alex.
Alex takes the plate. She follows along eagerly. "So what is it?" She tries to see what the food is.
((eek we need a daily menu or something i have no idea))Roni laughs pulling her along in the line, "They usually have a few different choices." she says.
((LOL yea suggest it! We can say soup for now.))
She lifts her nose. "Its soup! Chicken soup!" Alex grins widely.
She lifts her nose. "Its soup! Chicken soup!" Alex grins widely.
Roni grins, "Oh good that's perfect for rainy days." She lets them fill up a bowl for her and places it on the plate taking a slice of bread as well.
Alia laughs and gets a serving herself. She follows V, looking around. "Wow this place is huge! Are there really that many students here?"
She smiles with a shrug and quickly moves her arms so the shrug doesn't spill her soup and laughs,"Um, I suppose. It's a pretty big school." she says. "Let's find a seat."
Alex points. "There's a free spot." She walks to a table, and sits down.
Alex laughs. "Thats an easy one." She uses her powers to cool both bowls down a little by taking all the steam out of it. She makes a cloud with it, then blows it away. She eats her soup, happily pleased with herself.
Roni smiles," That was amazing!" she says taking another sip of her soup. She looks around the cafeteria. "Has anyone given you a tour yet?"
Alex raises an eyebrow. "I get a tour?" She takes another sip, then swallows. "That would be quite useful, I suppose."
"I can show you around. Trust me you'll need a tour and probably a map; we can grab one of those too." she pauses to take another sip of her soup," This place is pretty huge I still get lost sometimes."
Alex laughs. "I can see why! This place is so big..." She puts down her spoon. "Tabl' mann'rs be for proper ladies. I am quite the opposite." She smirks, picks up her whole bowl, and starts drinking the soup. She swallows, puts the bowl down, and grins.
Roni giggles," Alex!" she says and laughs. "Lucky for you mine need work as well." she says and follows her example. She hears the rain come down harder- it had to have been pounding down pretty hard to be heard over the cafeteria noise.
Alex laughs at V. "You be's a good 'un, V. Followin' along eas'ly 'nough." she says, her accent strong. She hears the rain too. "We need to find someone to control this storm, it's getting crazy out there." She finishes her soup and puts her spoon in her bowl.
Roni smiles,"Maybe your just a bad example." she says putting down her bowl. "Wouldn't that be suspicious to stop a storm though? If someone did it other people in town will wonder why it cleared up so fast." She stands and leads Alex over to where they put away their dishes. Thunder cracks and Roni jumps, it felt like she could feel the vibrations through the walls- but she knew the school was built too well for that to be true.
Alex follows willingly. "Then we could just clear it up around the school. Or at least slow down the rain." She puts her dishes away. "Well, lead the way, oh wise one." She laughs.
Roni smiles and tilts up her chin putting her arm in Alex's. "Right this way," she says with fake British accent and a goofy face. "We shall begin the tour."
Alex giggles. "Yes, of course, mi'lady. Where shall we begin?"
