What are you watching on TV?

..and you'll do that as soon as you read the first 19 Discworld books?

Exactly.

Where?"
I have it on DVD. (I thought it was on Netflix, but couldn't find it. Luckily we recorded it a few years back.)

With Benedict Cumberbatch? He is pure awesome!!

Huge Dr. Who fan..in fact all of us are.
Love Sherlock...and Cumberbatch, in general. Freeman does make an awesome Watson.
I cried at the end of Robin Hood.
I think I watched either just the first 2 seasons of Merlin, or some of the 3rd season as well...I'm not sure.

I loved the first season of Once Upon a Time. I feel like it's gone downhill ever since but I will watch as long as Robert Carlyle and Lana Parilla are part of it. They're both incredible. The S3 winter finale seemed to promise a return to interesting things, as well.
The end of the second was definitely its lowest point. I had to grit my teeth and think of Robert Carlyle's wonderful scenery-chewing and pretty hair to get through all the (view spoiler) stuff.

I do agree on Carlyle and Parilla though.

I saw something funny online, that some "fans" think Smith was #3 and not #11. Made me laugh. ;)

Yeah, my sister said the other night that she really only liked the "first Doctor". I'm like, "technically you mean the ninth."
I watched the special last night, too. We usually go to the movies on Xmas night, but there was nothing out we wanted to see aside from the Hobbit, and we already have New Year's Eve plan to see that with the fam.
I thought it was an ok episode, overall. Not great, and it felt a bit rushed - but I did have some feels when (view spoiler) . A decent cap to Smith's tenure, but not as awesome as, say, the 50th.
I'll be curious to see what Capaldi brings to it. I know nothing about him as an actor, except he, apparently, curses a lot in his own role.

I took my mom to see The Hobbit yesterday. I'd already seen it last weekend with the boy but I love those movies. Tonight I'm going to see Ronin and some number with the boy. I'm so excited! Me loves watching Asian mythology movies...no matter how inaccurate they are.

I thought the episode felt a little rushed to...but then since it covered something like 600+ years that is a little understandable. Doctor Who does that a lot. I'd like to have seen more about the siege. They gave us shots of the Doctor walking through conflagrations, explosions, fragments of battles and action shots to condense the story. They have always done the same with The Time War. I wish a good writer (that's A GOOD WRITER) would do some books on the details of the Time War and the Siege.

At least that's how I read it.
And, speaking of Doctor Who, I got this Tardis skirt and a bead for my charm bracelet for Xmas:

*Totally not me in the pic
(The bead is, sadly, silver, though it was supposed to be blue - but I think I'm gonna try to paint it.)

Ya know - Smith wasn't my favorite, but he did grow on me. I'm still a Tennant girl, though, and I cried like a baby for his regen and the whole farewell tour.
I know a lot of people who don't like his last episode, though. They found it to maudlin, I guess, and too cheesy, doing the whole "bring everyone back for the finale" thing.
But I think, really, it's more Moffat than Smith. I mean, Moffat has moments of brilliance, don't get me wrong, and he's written some awesome episodes... but I haven't liked the show as much under his reign.
***** SPOILERS, sort of *****
For one, I don't like the focus he puts on the companions. He's said in an interview that he purposely made it more about them, but I disagree with that direction. Even in this last episode I felt like Smith's parts were rushed, whereas the bits with Clara were more focused.
Then again, Moffat wrote Day of the Doctor, and I loved all the moments between the three in that one. (But I still thought the overall plot was kind of weak, tbh. It was their interactions which, for me, made that episode.)
And I was kind of blown away about the revelations of the cracks and the Silence, so...
I'm so ambivalent about Moffat.

Also, I thought the (view spoiler)

I have high hopes for Capaldi. Smith was okay but he never really grew on me. I like Hurt. Thought he did a great job as "The War Doctor".

At least that's how I read it.
And, speaking of Doctor Who, I got this Tardis ski..."
That's cool!

They're following that up with a marathon run of The Walking Dead (hint hint).

The AppleTV, which I personally like and prefer, is a standalone device which has the major streaming aps like Netflix, etc . and it can mirror your Apple device screens.
We bought a Roku for my mom, but she didn't like the interface.
