Kyra What are some good YA stand alone books? I'm looking for some in the Dystopia and Paranormal genre. But please post books in any genre.
Thanx!

Alyssa (vr_alyssa) The Host by Stephanie Meyer

The Host has graduated to a trilogy... just so you know. :)

Marie -The Reading Otter (thereadingotter) Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury
This is a great classic Dystopian novel. It was written in the mid 50's but many of the things that are talked about are eerily close to how things are these days.

Marie -The Reading Otter (thereadingotter) The Assassins of Tamurin by S.D. Tower

Is another great novel. Its closer to a high fantasy/ epic fantasy rather than Ya-fantasy. But its still a really great book.

I have to see it before I believe it. Cause Stephenie said that years ago and there is still not even a plot so. But maybe one day.

I didn't know it was that long ago. I guess if it hasn't happened by now, it never will.

Yeah, about half a year after The Host came out there was talk about a sequel. And somewhere along the last few years, I just gave up on it. Plus the ending of the Host was pretty good. I mean, she could write a sequel, but it's not needed.

Marie -The Reading Otter (thereadingotter) It's hard to make recommendations for stand alone Fantasy/paranormal books. Everything is a series or trilogy. :/

Alyssa (vr_alyssa) I know right! So frustrating! There are just too much series out there and then take up so much time.

Megan (megandurrence) | 4 comments It's so hard finding stand alones! I can only think of two. The first is A Bite's Tale. It's a retelling of Cinderella with a paranormal twist. I love it!

Another is Jinx. About a girl that stays with her family, where her cousin isn't the same as she used to be and she learns of family secrets that may be true. I enjoyed it as a stand alone, I don't think it had a sequel.

Hope you find something you like!
