Character reappearances

Have you guys noticed how Sarah Dessen does this pretty awesome thing where she has people from her previous books appear in other ones until every book she's written, ever character is entwined somehow.

I want to hear opinions on this and I would like to find every appearance in ever book, if someone can help me.

Also, question, in this book, is heather, Whitney's friend heather, Riley's friend?

I know I LOVE how she does it. Then you know how their ending is because she always leaves it at a cliffhanger where it can go either way.

Yeah, I love her writing. And even though all her main characters look alike it's like every book is a different one of their lives, no repetition

Oh I love it too! It makes you feel so entwined in the story :-D And well the whole truth squad shows up in just listen, it's hinted that Macy and Wes are in the house of Waffles when Annabel and Owen are, Jason from the truth about forever shows up in along for the ride, Macy's mum's business shows up in Lock & Key, Nate (is he called Nate?) out of lock&key is mentioned in Along for the ride, Annabel and Owen from just listen are mentioned in What happened to goodbye, I think Whitney may be mentioned in that summer and there are much, much more but I can't think of them right now.

Annabel and Owen were mentioned in what happened to goodbye- as the couple sharing the iPod on the wall.

Also Moira bell in just listen was supposed to be the unorthodox therapist

Jason actually showed up in a few of her books...He starts out in The Truth About Forever as Macy's BF and eventual ex and I think his "story" ends in What Happened to Goodbye as a cook in the restaurant McLean's dad is trying to save.

I love all her couples!
Owens sister and her friends are mentioned in Lock and Key as the girls at the kiosk looking at the jewelery; And isn't Annabelle on the radio when Nate is driving Ruby to school one morning?

Yeah and in just listen Annabel and Owen go to bendos to watch an awesome band called truth squad, which is dexters band, and meet ted, a certain read head, and a dexter struggling with his phone. And Annabel even gets introduced to rely, who was hanging round while truth squad toured and dexter mentioned she was super smart

This is one of my favourite reasons why I love her writing, I've tried writing this style myself and it can be a bit tricky at times. People often mistake Sarah's books as being identical but it's all because they characters are linked and it makes her stories truly unique and realistic.
