Certainly he was! He was carrying love messages to Margaret from Thornton every other day.

(LOL!) He did suspect, as Thornton was coming to un scheduled lessons three times a day, and Margaret was humming love songs under her breath while doing her embroidery.

Margaret suggested that now the cotton mill was closed, she would lend Thornton some of her money if he would use his newfound skills and turn the mill into a salsa dance studio. :P Wouldn't want all of Mr. Hales hard work to go to waste!
