my new profile pic, but changed my mind when I remembered that I already had the other one. I may use this one later, though... I just love his eyes in this pic! ;)
@Aery: I'm not saying I prefer his glares, I just appreciate them almost as much as his smiles. His smiles are the most adorable thing, but his glares are unarguably impressive. It's actually quite cool when he smirks, too...
I like the new profile pic! :) Haven't you seen the second Hobbit movie yet? And thanks for those other pictures, great glares. :) I don't think anyone minds there being an awful lot of Richard Armitage pictures to choose from.
@Rachel: Yay! Someone else who loves the Gisborne look. :)

I prefer the one you were going to do over the one the is your profile pic - his eyes are stunning!
How can you prefer the Thorin look Rachel?! Apart from being a lot older than he was in Robin Hood and N&S, the beard and hair like that - really?? I can do the gisbourne look but Thorin is too much! And he is a dwarf!!! From Aery's posting of one of each look a few posts back, Thorin is my least favourite look!!!

I agree with you Soph, the other picture does make his eyes look stunning.
I really do like the Thorin look myself, but I'm also at a loss as to why people would prefer it to Thornton or Gisborne. Not because of his age or anything, but just because the Thorin look conceals so much more of his face - and remember, the poor thing had prosthetics to deal with too! So it's not entirely his own face.

I think part of it may be because I love the character so much... who cares if he's a dwarf?!

Oh, I love the character, and I personally don't give a crap whether he's a dwarf or not. That doesn't have much to do with it, in my eyes. I just... prefer his other looks a little more. :) Just because.

And Fitzbeardiam HAS a beard in my head even if Colin Firth doesn't. Boy do I miss me some 90's sideburns. Or historical sideburns to match gentlemen with insides-melting gazes.
Kate wrote: "I vote no beard for RA and also for glasses, I am still in love with him as Harry in The Vicar of Dibley.

Yay, another vote for no beard! :) And I agree with you about the glasses, Kate, they really did suit him remarkably well in Vicar of Dibley.
So now I think the score stands at:
~ Beard and/or Thorin 'look': 2 Votes
~ No Beard (more or less): 4 Votes
~ Either: 1 Vote

Thanks Rachel. :) Do you really like it? I'm wondering if I can find a better one, but it can be a little hard to find pictures with the right dimensions to suit a profile picture.

Aren't they, though?! :D Though I think his eyes are rather gorgeous in my profile pic too... ;)
And I am keeping that other one back to use at another time. ;)

Oh yes, his glares are very impressive! And his smirks... ;) What can I say? (What can any of us say?) He's just too cute for his own good. lol! :P
Thanks! :) No, I haven't... Can you believe it?! I really really want to, but every time I go to do it, something comes up & I can't. :( I shall remedy this very soon, though!! I SHALL!! :)
Indeed, what can any of us say? He is far too good looking for his own good... As evidenced by how long we've been discussing what his best look is! :D
You're welcome. :) No, I can't believe it! I went to see it three times in the cinemas, myself. You'll have to tell me what you think of it when you finally see it - I thought it was fantastic. :)

And Kate - why on earth does Darcy - Fitzbeadiam - have a beard in your hear?! Regardless of actors who have played him! You know what, Darcy and Fitzbeardiam (great - that word now comes up in auto correct on my phone!) are not the same person - Fitzbeardiam is someone else you have created!
Hahahaha, LOL. The thing I found most amusing in that little comment was that "Fitzbeardiam" now comes up in auto correct on your phone! Just lol.
Though, I really have no high ground on the auto-correct issue; you know you're almost too big a fan (I hate that word...) of Richard Armitage when you type the letters 'ar' and the predictive text on your phone suggests "Armitage". *facepalm*

Yes, I really do like it! :)
There we go Aery - a Thornton one ;)I was torn between this and a train station smile shot! went with the theme of sexy eyes and glares ;)
:O Wonderful new photo, Soph! Truly beautiful glare, that one. ;)
I love it how we're all talking about which hair styles and camera shots show Richard to his best advantage, and suddenly all these profile pics of him start appearing all over the place. :D <3

Thank you. :) Now I don't have to worry about it - I always do, you know, wondering whether my profile picture looks okay.

Nice one, Soph! ;)
Well... so far, we've got RA profile pics from 3 different shows. Anyone else want to join us? ;P
Aerykah wrote: "Well... so far, we've got RA profile pics from 3 different shows. Anyone else want to join us? ;P ..."
We're doing well, aren't we? :D I'm sure someone else would be willing to have a picture of Richard Armitage from a different show as their profile picture - possibly one from Dibley? Ah, I am so ashamed that I didn't realise until now what a good profile picture Richard would make!

(P.S. - Why, Aery, did you have to post that other picture of Richard you were thinking of using for your profile? Every time I scroll up in this conversation I see that picture, and it's so hard to tear myself away! Ah, such trials... :P)
Haha I thought I would jump on the bandwagon ;)
Also, the pic I used I love that scene/moment. When Margaret stands up for him, and stops him from walking off and asks him to tell her mother she will be home soon, trying to imply she is looking forward to going back to the north. The glimmer of hope or pleasure which passes across Thornton's face is brilliant!

Well, it's a very lovely bandwagon to be on, is it not? ;) I love that moment too, though he doesn't really hear her stand up for him, unfortunately. But it is very sweet how Margaret tries to make up for Henry's treatment of him by asking him to speak to her mother for her. It would make him feel like a valued friend, I suppose, but I think that glimmer you mentioned also holds just a little confusion and consternation, as well as pleasure.

Yes shame he doesn't hear. Which is why her request is so important. And yes I only said glimmer, for there is a lot of confusion going on there! His face is a picture at that moment - hence why it's my profile picture ;)
Yes indeed - poor Thornton, he must be so terribly confused then, having had to spend all day answering "starry-eyed Londoners", and then meeting with such treatment from Henry, followed by such a kind request from Margaret. One things for sure, that expression does make a lovely profile picture! :)

lol! I've had him as my profile pic a few times now. ;) He does make a rather good one, doesn't he? ;)
And sorry about that pic... (actually, I'm really not) You could always make it your profile pic, you know. ;)

He does make a remarkably good profile picture, yes! I don't know how I didn't realise before...
Haha, I know you aren't sorry! Oh, I could - I do love that picture - but I should not like to steal it from you, Aery. :) I am happy with mine for the moment, and when I next change it I'm sure I will be able to find an equally stunning picture of Richard Armitage as Guy of Gisborne. *sigh* Those eyes... Was it a mistake to start posting pictures of Richard on here? We can blame Abby, she started it. :P

*sigh* I know! Mm... it may have been. But I'm not complainin! ;P
Hmmm... Well, I might take you up on that offer, sometime, but if I do I will certainly check with you first. :) It is a remarkably gorgeous picture, after all!
*more sighing* Yup, might have. But I really don't think there'll be anyone complaining, do you? :D

I highly doubt it! lol! ;D
*giggles* They'd probably be shouted down in a storm of protests, anyway. Right, this thread has now officially taken over my brain. Busily adding as many Richard Armitage photos as I can to my collection of pictures on Goodreads. Oh dear...

lol! No kidding. ;P Okay, I'm gonna have to check out your GR pics now... ;)
Ah, this thread has me in a constant state of laughing and/or sighing. Oh, I hope my pictures aren't a disappointment! ;)
I'm glad you're gaining some enjoyment from this thread, I confess it has been very enjoyable and entertaining participating in this discussion. Oh, is it your birthday today? Happy Birthday! I hope you're having a lovely day. <3 :)
Though I am by no means wishing to close down the discussion on Richard Armitage's hairstyle - we all know I could talk about that forever, and have fun doing it - this might be a good time to also introduce another idea I've been thinking about for a while.
The problem is, I have no idea whether this is a really lame thought, or a really nice thought. So any feedback would be appreciated:
~ I've been thinking for some time now that perhaps I could create a Birthday List thread, where everyone can post their birthday dates. Then I'd make a list of them, so we can all wish each other Happy Birthday on the appropriate day. Of course I'd almost always get the wrong day due to living in a tiny corner of the world :P, but I thought it might be nice anyway. I could maybe even add in a few of the main actors birth-dates as well, just for kicks. :) So, what do you all think?
