"My name's Faith" She said holding out a hand to the other girl

"Lizette. But just call me Liz."Liz nodded, shaking her hand.

"Nice to meet you" Faith said with a smile.

Alex ran outside and wrapped herself around Faith's leg her long hair falling into her face.

"thanks, er you too."Liz nodded, looking at Alex after.

"This is Alex, Alex, this is Liz" Faith said running a hand gently through the little girl's incredibly long hair.

Alex looked at Liz curiously.

"Hi Alex."Liz smiled slightly at the little girl.

Ida walked out of the house, it had gotten to loud due to Josiah crying for Rosemary. The mute little girl needed to get out of the house, to get some quiet.

A little girl with long hair and green eyes sat out in front of the house, she'd been dropped off by a woman. "Dawn looked around wondering where she was.

Rosemary walked up to the house, feeling confident that Alex would be safe. She looked at the little girl on the steps "Hello little one" Rosemary said softly, kneeling to Dawn's height.

Dawn looked at Rosemary and scooted backwards her broken arm held tightly to her body. "Does yow know whew my mommy is?" She asked shyly.

"What's your mommy's name sweetie?" She replied.

"The state Lady said Mommy's name is Faith, Don't know who my daddy is," Dawn said looking at Rosemary

Rosemary nodded "I'm very good friends with your mommy" She told the little girl.

"Yow awe?" Dawn said excitedly but whimpered when she moved her arm.

Rosemary nodded again "Can you tell me your name?"

"My name Dawn" She said with a smile.

"That's a pretty name, I'm Rosie" Rosemary told the child "Would you like to come inside and we can find your mommy?" She asked, holding her arms out to the little girl.

Dawn looked at her with her green eyes and nodded and choked back a scream when she moved.

Rosemary carefully pick Dawn up, keep from upsetting any of her injuries. "Its okay little one" She murmured.

Dawn held on with her good arm. "I Two" Dawn said.

"You're so big" Rosemary said, smiling brightly. She had such a soft spot for children.

Dawn smiled a little distracted by her broken arm.

Rosemary carried Dawn inside. "Faith babe?" She called entering the house.

Faith sat on the front steps and looked at Ida, "I'm ready when you are" She said to the girl.

Ida sat down, unsure of how to would even begin talking having never done it before. So she said the first thing that she could think of "Mommy's favourite song with Twinkle Twinkle little stay" The child's voice was soft, barely above a whisper due to having never used it before.

Faith nodded having never heard it before but slightly remembering Callie and Jude singing something similar.

Ida took a breath before she continued, knowing after this conversation she may not talk again. "Government men killed them" Ida felt tears coming to her eyes, remembering seeing her mother's death in front of her.

Faith pulled Ida into a hug after hearing her words and seeing her tears.

Ida tried to blink back her tears, needing to finish the last part of her lack of speech "The other town tried to ki..." Ida tried to say the words, but the tears began to fall cutting her words off.

"I'm here" Faith said and hugged the girl offering her comfort.

Ida continued to cry, wrapping her arms around her knees.

Ida took a few shaky breaths "They tried to kill me" She finished, tears still falling only they were now silent.

Ida wrapped her arms around Faith, thanking her for listening.

Ida pulled back, grabbing her notebook Thank you Faith She wrote, once again not talking.

"It's alright," Faith said to Ida and hugged her

Ida returned the hug, glad that Faith was okay with her not speaking more.
