Besides, compared to amount of time Hermione and Ron spent together Edward and Bella had no real way to create a true love relationship.
Also the word is 'invalid' not 'unvalid'.

No. I disagree with this. Because even if he wasn't Harry's godfather, he still would have been close friends with Lily and James, and in PoA Lupin still would have told the trio about how much they trusted each other, and the trio will trust Lupin no matter what.

Their forbidden love would be a way for Harry to bribe Ron into helping them with the missions and what not.
