Book is added to the wrong author

Dear fellow librarians,

One of the authors of the book As Noites Longas do FM Estéreo is António Santos. However, even if I correctly write "António" (with an accent) it gets wrongly assigned to another author, Antonio Santos (without an accent). Is this a bug?

It's supposed to be a feature, where if someone leaves off the accent they don't accidentally create a duplicate profile. However, sometimes duplicate profiles sneak in anyway. Do you know if these are actually two different authors?

Yes, they are (at least) two authors: one is Spanish, the other (the one with accent) is Portuguese.

I understand the new feature and I think it's a good idea, but it would be good to have a way to override the automatic change.

Should I change all the books for "António Santos" to two spaces ("António^^Santos")? As the author currently exists separately I was hoping that would not be needed, but it might be the only solution.

Yes, to keep them distinct one need to have the 2 spaces.
