Who's excited for the vampire academy movie in February? Why? Does anyone have any expectations?

YESYESYES!!! I CAN'T WAIT!and i don't mind that it totally looks like a vampire version of mean girls because mean girls is timeless and fabolous ;)
Yes, I am very excited. I love the books and going to re-read Vampire Academy before I see the film. If I have any expectations it would be that I hope the writers and director were mostly true to the book. I'll be okay with some changes but don't be like City of Bones and be more like Hunger Games.

i was excited , i really love vampire academy its like my baby and i am really sad about the trailer , i dont think it is at all what i imagined and i have to say i am utterly disappointed with the dude they picked to play dimitri . i don't know if i even want to see the movie and have the books ruined .

And as for Dimitri, I think Danila is a good choice. Is he what I pictured for Dimitri? No, but it's impossible to find someone that is the exactly how you pictured him while you read the book. And the people that play Rose and Dimitri have such chemistry (or at least I think so) that I would rather have a Dimitri that may not be exactly how I pictured him but has amazing chemistry with Rose than a Dimitri that is exactly how I pictured him but no chemistry at all.
I don't know why, but I always pictured Channing Tatum or whatever his name is as what Dimitri would look like. You know, big and hunky. Any time I see him on TV without a Russian accent, I'm severely disappointed hehe... I'll have to check out the trailor

Hmmm..... You're right Jason Momoa does look like a Dimitri :) When I read the books I always thought Ben Barnes was closest to Dimitri!!!!
I checked out the trailor and the movie looks like it's going to be fun, not lovey dovey. Yay! I love that. Hopefully the Russian guy does a good Belikov. I also checked out Jason Momoa and yeah, he would have been good too. Big and hunky.
I saw a lot of the Ben Barnes guy come up when looking for the character. Wasn't he Dorian Gray?

Haha yeah me too, he was my favourite through all the books! He pops up in the golden Lilly books on Sydney Sage as well and even though it's in small parts, he makes me swoon hahaha

Okay,.I commented yesterday after watching a trailer yesterday on YouTube. What I saw looked horrible but today I saw a different trailer that looked super funny and it looks good . I am still hesitant about Dimitri but I will give him a chance lol .

no these are one hell of an awful casting and they look more mean girls than VA i wont let the movie ruin the books for me because i absolutely despise this so called casting. no from me.

I don't know if I was the only one who was disappointed when watching the movie trailer. The trailer looks like its going to be yet another one of those ridiculous teen movies.

I saw the trailer and I was so disappointed. It looks like a vampire Mean Girls type of movie, and while I LOVE the Mean Girls, I don't think that is the right tone for the Vampire Academy. It's much more dark and gritty. I feel like it's going to be a stand alone movie without any of the sequels. It's sad because it truly is a great series and people who are not readers will never know how great of a story it is.
I just hope they don't mess it up! Maybe that sounds like I have high expectations but really I just want the acting to be real, where it compliments the books and not totally ruin the plot. Is this too much to ask for? I think I may go into a mini hysteria attack and than re-read all the books again to calm myself if the movie is not its own work of art.
I'm really excited for this movie! I've been part of this journey to the day the movie rights were sold to the day the cast was announced. Speaking of the cast, aren't they amazing? It has a mean girl vibe because the director of VA is the one from mean girls. I believe it will stay true to the book. I have to wait until March to see it because that's when it comes out in Aus. Many people think VA is just another shit vampire movie so if you read the books and loved it, spread the word and take 40 people with you to watch it.
I love the books but I am unsure as to just how good the movie will be after watching the trailer. I just hope that it is another Beautiful Creatures type scenario where the book and movie were completely different but they are both still great.
I had no idea there was a Vampire Academy movie coming out! OMG I'm so excited! All this freaking hype has been about FSOG which we all know is gonna suck without Ian Somerhalder! Can't believe no one on my feed has mentioned a VA movie! Its like my absolute favorite YA series! Literally every other YA book is a massive disappointment compared to this! Seriously guys my imaginary boyfriend's name is Dimitri Imrahil (from LOTR) Ivashkov, but his nickname is Damon! =^.^= *_*
Is there going to be 5 movies? Or just one.
Right now it hasn't been confirmed. If VA is successful then obviously Frostbite will get the green light and so on. Fingers crossed that it doesn't fail at the box office.

Maybe they'll combine the books? They aren't that long with not too much going on. I read the entire series in a week.
