The ebook selection at my library is not that great. If you borrow ebooks, what is your source?

Micah (onemorebaker) | 1071 comments Overdrive is a great source but as far as I know you need to have a membership at some library that has a contract with them. I don't know another place to borrow e-books.

My library uses Overdrive. Its easy to use, just missing books I want to read.

Rick None of the Macmillan imprints (Tor, etc) sell to libraries, so if you're looking for their books you won't find them. You'll either need to buy them new (electronically) or hunt down a used copy in paper.

Dawn (dawnv) | 96 comments I use lendle for kindle books that have a sharing option.

Also a few years ago you could buy a NY library subscription and for some reason they have not yet cut me off nor have I received a bill. Not sure if they are still doing it but it is well worth it they have a ton of books!

I also use overdrive from my local library

I haven't heard of Oyster. I will have to check it out. That sucks about McMillan.

Rick Good to know, Ardi. I do wish publishers would stop this silly crap :

"Once purchased by a library, e-book titles will be available to lend for two years or 52 lends, whichever comes first, and titles in the pilot were priced at $25."

And it's too bad they're not offering their front list but this is still good news.

Clyde (wishamc) | 572 comments Oyster only works on iOS and is only available in the USA. Double suck.
