I am trying to find a book I read when I was 14 or 15, probably published during the 80's. All I remember is that the story a regency romance, the heroine is named Frederica (maybe spelled Fredericka) ~ she was called Freddie in the novel. The plot began with her becoming the ward of an baron? earl? viscount? (can't remember his name at all). He is older than she, but not elderly. He is attracted to her, she to him, but he is hesitant due to age difference. The novel included some other intrigue, with her family I believe, but I can't recall other details. I read this several times ~ paperback format, but can't recall the title now and I'm finding myself obsessed with locating this book.

Any assistance would be most welcome!

Jeffrey (chiklitmanfan) Welcome aboard! I can think of no other than Georgette Heyer's Frederica. If you are not familiar with Georgette Heyer, you have struck GOLD. Perhaps this is the one?
