They always leave me thinking about something. They are fun to read and the romance does not take center stage in most of them.
Love reading YA because my mind is stuck in this decade when I should already be graduating to A at my age hahaha Seriously though, I love reading YA because it's fun, refreshing and relatable. No matter how jaded we grow up to be, we will always look back on our own YA years with stars in our eyes; it was horrible but the most fun you've ever had at the same time.
Interesting opinions. I just wanted to bump up for the newer members to share their opinions about the topic. Thanks.
An avoidance of unnecessary rambling that a lot of general adult fiction contains, wherein the author is merely trying to demonstrate how intelligent and educated they are. Engaging a reader takes more skill than producing endless lines of self-indulgent drivel; YA is generally better written, and therefore more engaging.
I like YA for tons of reasons. They're usually shorter, so easier to fit into my far too busy life. They're often full of fantastic characterization and creative plots. I think they have less stuffiness in general. They don't have to pretend to have all the wisdom and none of the fun. Hm. I guess it's a matter of fun. YA is fun!

I am asking this because I am curious what different things we get from reading these kinds of books. After all each of us is different, and we all walk away with different things from reading a particular type of book.
Thanks for your time.
