RabidReader (RabidReaderX) | 14 comments Lulu.com is an excellent and easy way to convert a transcript to .epub It will even help you create a cover for your book. You can download a free version (without cover) or for a published version $.99 (you control the availability of your book).

Alex (ucbstirling) | 140 comments Hi Griffin,

If you're talking about uploading a sample to Goodreads, you can do so from the gray "edit details" link on your book page. On the edit page, look for a tan "upload ebook" button.

If you run into any trouble, feel free to contact us at support at goodreads dot com.

Best,
Alex

Mitchell Stokely (phantammeron) | 1 comments I came here hoping to find a way to upload an eBook sample even though my book as an author is only an eBook on Kindle at this point. I went to my bookpage and did not see the upload eBook sample button. So I assume if you have connected a book to Goodreads thats am Amazon Kindle eBook already, you cant upload an eBook sample for your readers on Goodreads? Is that correct?....seems a little confusing...

I think it's automatically linked to the Amazon Kindle sample (mine always are).

Debbie's Spurts (D.A.) It should be linked to kindle sample already. I don't think it breaks exclusivity if the preview or sample is available elsewhere, though.

(I don't think goodreads' preview supports kindle azw file.)

Assaph Mehr | 4 comments Hi Mitchell,

You can upload a preview from your author profile:
https://www.goodreads.com/author/dash...

Go to that page, find your book, and there will be an "add preview" link next to it (or a "preview" link if one already exists).

Click that link, and you will be able to upload either a PDF or an ePub file.

You will need to generate those preview files yourself though. You can use Calibre (http://calibre-ebook.com) to convert your Kindle file into either ePub or PDF, and then edit it to remove most of the book and only leave what you want in there (e.g. the cover, table of content and a sample chapter).

Let me know if you need more help - I've just went through this for my own book :)

I did this and I got the epub from Kindle but I couldn't change the text size which is too small to read no matter how many times I clicked on the aa at the top. I have a pdf file, but didn't see how to load that. What am I missing?

I hope that by "epub from kindle" you mean the book preview, that you converted into ePub format...

Changing text size is usually up to the reader program or device. Uploading a PDF is done the same way as ePub - same link. If you are trying to read a PDF on a Kindle, it will probably not be able to resize the text (though it might be able to zoom on parts of the page).

If you include a link to the book you're trying to upload the preview for and the exact steps you followed, I might be able to help more.

Otherwise contact Goodreads support via https://www.goodreads.com/about/conta...
They are extremely helpful! They always fixed any issues I had within a day.
