Louise Rose-Innes (louiseri) | 5 comments Hi

I have replaced a book cover on Amazon.com, and I need it to filter through to GoodReads. Is there a way to change the cover? Thanks.

Nucking Futs the Fire Fairy Book-a-holic (firefairyholic) | 348 comments If you've used the current one as an ARC or published cover then we can't remove it for you. But you can create an alternate cover edition for you new cover which you can combine with the other edition.

Emy (emypt) | 5037 comments Goodreads does not change covers on published titles, instead we create new editions called Alternate Cover editions. See HERE for more information (message #3).

If you have new covers, you can either

A. Create a new edition yourself WITHOUT ISBNs/ASIN but with the new cover. As Author you can then combine the new edition with the older version.

B. Post a link here to the edition(s) with the new cover, and a link to the cover (Your blog, Amazon, Library catalogues, or Publishers are acceptable sources). Alternatively you can also upload the cover to your Pictures area of Goodreads and we can grab it from there.

Once the edition is created and combined with the older versions, you can follow the instructions in message #2 HERE to make the new edition Primary, which means it will show first in searches and on your Author homepage.

I write it out, you write it out :P Anyway, no two requests are identical, so you can't just copy/paste the same thing each time :)

Nucking Futs the Fire Fairy Book-a-holic (firefairyholic) | 348 comments I know... Haha! But the main points are usually the same so I might as well prepare some usual answers.

Louise Rose-Innes (louiseri) | 5 comments Hi, thanks for this. How do I add an alternate-cover edition? Message 3 in your link doesn't tell me how to do it. I've looked on my author dashboard, but its still a mystery. Thanks.

Louise Rose-Innes (louiseri) | 5 comments Okay, I think I've done it. I've added a new addition and clicked to make it the default, but in my books, the thumbnail is still the old edition. Does this take a while? And have I done the right thing? Thanks.

Shadow Jubilee (uhqs) | 35 comments you need to combine the two editions if you have not done so already

Here:
https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/1...

This is the procedure for setting the default edition of a book:
i) Go to the book page of the edition you wish to become the default/primary edition.
ii) Click "edit details" below the book's description.
iii) On the right side of the page about halfway down, click "Set this book as the primary edition for this work".
iv) Click "Save Changes"

It helps if you start a new thread for each job.

Peggy Holloway | 15 comments I have followed these steps and they work beautifully, if the new cover is there already. How do I get the new cover on that page?

You MUST go to the edit page of the book that ALREADY has the new cover.

Do this.
https://www.goodreads.com/book/edit/1...

Then, on the right side of the page about halfway down, click "Set this book as the primary edition for this work".

Then, Click "Save Changes" near the bottom of the page.
