Hello!

๖ۣۜSαᴙαh ๖ۣۜMᴄĄłłiƨʈeʀ (inked_chinadoll) Hi Zac! Looks great! I have so many ideas for characters! :D

Wonderful! ^_^

๖ۣۜSαᴙαh ๖ۣۜMᴄĄłłiƨʈeʀ (inked_chinadoll) May I point out that "Age" should be capitalized in your title? :3

Did I not? Oh dear, thank you Sarah ^_^ I'm still developing the group.

๖ۣۜSαᴙαh ๖ۣۜMᴄĄłłiƨʈeʀ (inked_chinadoll) No worries. :D I shall restrain myself from now on. :P

Ji Mei (jimei) | 182 comments Looks cool!!!

๖ۣۜSαᴙαh ๖ۣۜMᴄĄłłiƨʈeʀ (inked_chinadoll) Zac, are we allowed to play deities?

message 9: by Z, The Great Pharaoh (new)

Z | 282 comments Mod
I've been thinking about that. In ancient times, people would study and train to be the hosts of gods, it was a high honour, so if your character can do magic or is a priest/priestess, then they will be allowed to host a god which gives them enhanced powers, and what looks like schizophrenia. However, it is also dangerous, because the gods power might burn up your mortal form. So for now, your character cannot be a deity, but they can host one.

๖ۣۜSαᴙαh ๖ۣۜMᴄĄłłiƨʈeʀ (inked_chinadoll) Okay!

Okay :) I'm looking forward to your characters!

message 12: by ๖ۣۜSαᴙαh (new)

๖ۣۜSαᴙαh ๖ۣۜMᴄĄłłiƨʈeʀ (inked_chinadoll) I think I'd like to see you make one first lol.

I've been making one, but it's hard, I have so many ideas I want to use!

message 14: by ๖ۣۜSαᴙαh (new)

๖ۣۜSαᴙαh ๖ۣۜMᴄĄłłiƨʈeʀ (inked_chinadoll) Haha know the feeling.

message 15: by Z, The Great Pharaoh (new)

Z | 282 comments Mod
I'll just have to make them all ;P

message 16: by Ji Mei (new)

Ji Mei (jimei) | 182 comments Have you read The Red Pyramid? Is the hosting of a deity like that?

message 17: by Z, The Great Pharaoh (new)

Z | 282 comments Mod
Exactly like that :) I'm re-reading the series for some of my references.

message 18: by Ji Mei (new)

Ji Mei (jimei) | 182 comments Ah, I see. ^_^ Luckily I've read the first two books, so I can have some clue of what it's like.

message 19: by Z, The Great Pharaoh (new)

Z | 282 comments Mod
Yup, I'm also basing it a lot on actual Ancient Egyptian mythology and facts we've found with archaeology.

message 20: by ๖ۣۜSαᴙαh (new)

๖ۣۜSαᴙαh ๖ۣۜMᴄĄłłiƨʈeʀ (inked_chinadoll) I haven't read those. :/

message 21: by Ji Mei (new)

Ji Mei (jimei) | 182 comments Indeed. That's the only way we can learn about Ancient Egypt, really. Though I like Greek mythology and such, I feel Egyptian mythology isn't as taught as often nor discussed as much as it should. For being a country with so much history, maybe a little more than Greece, Egypt isn't talked about as much.

message 22: by Z, The Great Pharaoh (new)

Z | 282 comments Mod
It's probably because the mythology is so confusing, and what we do know of it's history, a lot of it is disputed, but you're right, it isn't taught as much, and it was one of the longest lasting civilisations in the world. I'm thinking of going into archeology and specialising in Egyptology.

message 23: by Ji Mei (new)

Ji Mei (jimei) | 182 comments That would be cool! In fact, if you ever become a professor of the subject, I would like to know what you've learned. Ah, I wish there was more of me so I can learn more things like history, genetics, Chinese, librarian science, and creative writing...

message 24: by ๖ۣۜSαᴙαh (new)

๖ۣۜSαᴙαh ๖ۣۜMᴄĄłłiƨʈeʀ (inked_chinadoll) I'm in history. We use the archeology researchers' work a lot too. :D

message 25: by Z, The Great Pharaoh (new)

Z | 282 comments Mod
I'll be sure to tell you Ji_Mei! And that's cool Sarah :D

message 26: by Ji Mei (new)

Ji Mei (jimei) | 182 comments That's great, Sarah! I bet Egyptian myths are more historically helpful than the history channel. :P

message 27: by Z, The Great Pharaoh (new)

Z | 282 comments Mod
Haha probably, except when they change roles. Set and Nephthys are sometimes the parents of Anubis, but sometimes it's another woman, an in one version, Set and Horus had a homosexual relationship and made Anubis.

message 28: by Ji Mei (new)

Ji Mei (jimei) | 182 comments Well, that's better than the history channel talking about the Vikings learning how to built ships from aliens or other strange 'theories'. And if you look at the myths, Ra is also Amun or sometimes they're combined. And the creation myths are different, but in the end, they all give clues to the traditions the Egyptians believed in.

message 29: by Z, The Great Pharaoh (new)

Z | 282 comments Mod
That's true, and the Egyptians themselves did amazing things. 2,000 years before the birth of Christ and they created the tallest structure in the world.

message 30: by Ji Mei (new)

Ji Mei (jimei) | 182 comments Indeed and they were pretty advanced with technology as well to have managed such a feat.

message 31: by Z, The Great Pharaoh (new)

Z | 282 comments Mod
Yah, and they had irrigation, and writing, and math, and all sorts of other things.

message 32: by Ji Mei (new)

Ji Mei (jimei) | 182 comments Yeppers! And pulley systems and boats, and such.

message 33: by Z, The Great Pharaoh (new)

Z | 282 comments Mod
Exactly :) they were pretty awesome.

message 34: by Ji Mei (new)

Ji Mei (jimei) | 182 comments Go Egypt! :D

message 35: by Z, The Great Pharaoh (new)

Z | 282 comments Mod
Haha yes!

message 36: by ๖ۣۜSαᴙαh (new)

๖ۣۜSαᴙαh ๖ۣۜMᴄĄłłiƨʈeʀ (inked_chinadoll) The History channel, although I do enjoy it, is so hit or miss with their accurate information! Sometimes it makes me so mad! And other times, so happy. :D

message 37: by Ji Mei (new)

Ji Mei (jimei) | 182 comments Usually, History channel makes me laugh. I think I heard it say that aliens were what started my religion and that LDS people worship them or some such idiotic thing.

message 38: by The Phantom (new)

The Phantom (zerosummations) | 12 comments Hi. I am the Phantom. This group looks cool.

message 39: by Z, The Great Pharaoh (new)

Z | 282 comments Mod
Welcome Phantom :)

message 40: by The Phantom (new)

The Phantom (zerosummations) | 12 comments Who's being the Pharaoh here?
(You? The title suggests that...)

message 41: by Z, The Great Pharaoh (new)

Z | 282 comments Mod
The Pharaoh in this world won't actually be a character who interacts with the people, the characters will interact with each other.

message 42: by The Phantom (new)

The Phantom (zerosummations) | 12 comments OK. So who's going to have the most authority?

message 43: by Z, The Great Pharaoh (new)

Z | 282 comments Mod
The priests will have more authority, and the above them will be magicians in the Per Anhk.

message 44: by The Phantom (new)

The Phantom (zerosummations) | 12 comments OK. I might make a scribe...

message 45: by Z, The Great Pharaoh (new)

Z | 282 comments Mod
Okay :)

message 46: by The Phantom (new)

The Phantom (zerosummations) | 12 comments Good good.
Have you ever read River God?

message 47: by Z, The Great Pharaoh (new)

Z | 282 comments Mod
No I haven't, what is it about?

message 48: by The Phantom (new)

The Phantom (zerosummations) | 12 comments Ancient Egypt. There is a character in it named Taita, and I think I may base my scribe off him...

message 49: by Z, The Great Pharaoh (new)

Z | 282 comments Mod
Okay, I'll have to look it up.

message 50: by The Phantom (new)

The Phantom (zerosummations) | 12 comments Speaking of characters, how does that work on this group, I haven't seen a similar format elsewhere.
