Crystal Elizabeth | 32 comments Hey Susan ! :) Did you have any inspiration for this series? Like some authors say they have a dream or they're looking at something and they just create these characters ? Did anything like that happen to you ?

message 102: by Nair (new) - rated it 5 stars

Nair (naiu) | 1 comments First of all: Wonderful books! I'm so glad I accidentally found Angelfall on amazon a couple years ago.
Question now: Regarding angels, do their wing colors represent rank or something like that? (I don't remember if it was mentioned) And also, are Uriel's plans going to be reveled in the next book?
Thanks and write on ;)

- is that your way of saying there will be no love triangle in Penryn and the end of days? :D

Bless you. <3

Susan Ee | 95 comments Lauren wrote: "how long to get them published? ..."

It took very little time to publish Angelfall because I published it myself without contacting agents or publishers. World After took months (9?) through my publisher.

Susan Ee | 95 comments Harmony wrote: "I loved Angelfall! What came first when writing Angelfall, the characters or the plot line? Can you give any advice for writers?"

The characters.

If you've already tried freewriting and continue to practice that (see my previous post), I recommend you allow your characters free will. It's their story. Let them live it the way they want to rather than forcing them to follow your preconceived notions of who they are and how they should behave. Let go of the control and step into the void.

This series has been percolating in the back of my mind for years. I'm not sure when it snuck into my mind but one of my earliest short stories was about an angel. It's been with me for a long time.

Yeah, I had to take that because they don't have classes for angel apocalypses yet. :D

Dandelion | 19 comments Susan Ee wrote: "I asked a friend who was deeply religious how she felt about it. Her answer was that it's no different from science people loving sci-fi--it's fiction based on something they love."

cannot agree more ~ i am a catholic and i find the movie Dogma hilarious ^0^ ~~~

even Angelfall is a fiction, the story is kind of believable ~ we all know that there have been good angels and bad angels ~ otherwise, where did Lucifer come from?

My characters have free will. They don't necessarily echo my opinions, nor do they always listen to me...

Dandelion | 19 comments Susan Ee wrote: "My characters have free will. They don't necessarily echo my opinions, nor do they always listen to me... "

this makes the story more interesting ~ i suppose there's no concrete ending for it yet? just like you are "peeking" into Penryn's life and then reporting us how things go ~ wow, this's more exciting than mere gossip ~ hheeehehehe :))))

Susan Ee | 95 comments Bre wrote: "do you listen to music when you write...?"

Music is such a powerful mood-setter that I prefer not to listen to it when I write. I want my scenes and characters to set the mood rather than me imposing a mood on them.

Harmony | 77 comments Hello, I was wondering if you are going to personalize any books for the coming holidays? If so, where can I buy one?

I'm not opposed to a cool trip to the Philippines. :) Feel free to contact my U.S. publisher (who supplies the books to the Philippines) and ask them about the possibility. AmazonPublishing-PR@amazon.com

Susan Ee | 95 comments Jaci wrote: "do you already have a title in mind for the third book?"

I did. I've had it since Angelfall. But I'm not sure now that I'll use it. I tend to title the book after it's finished, and I'm inclined to stick with that.

Aw, thats so nice of you! You can take all the time you like! Im just glad you read my super long message earlier. :) And yes I will!

It's good to know someone agrees! I think we've all honestly had our fair share of heartbreak of love triangles. I definitely think it would be great if we take a break from it. :)

aqsa Speaking of which-- Susan! I know you mentioned you were a little behind on correspondence -- but if you get back on track, and I'm hoping you do! You should definitely check tumblr out and maybe make an official blog!

Unless you already do have one, and I've been living in the dark for a while...

I think it gives a great personal- yet at the same time public space to speak and connect with fans and the like! :)

message 148: by aqsa (new) - rated it 5 stars

aqsa Alright! :)

Q. Oooh, have you ever met anyone who is perhaps like Raffe? Or any way resembles him in appearance, sexiness or say, corny jokes even? ;D

message 149: by Liz (last edited Dec 07, 2013 08:16PM) (new) - rated it 5 stars

Liz | 2 comments One more question. Well I'll plan on one but no promises.

Is Laylah (I don't like her BTW. Who would do that to Raffe?! Orders or no!! >:( ) the only female angel? Are there others who are warriors?

Also, I just wanted to say I really appreciated how you handled Beliel. Can't say I like him either but its nice to have a Bad Guy with more going on than just being a BAD guy. His relationship with Paige was interesting. I won't lie, at one point I was worried that she had connected with him enough to abandon her sis and join him. SO SO GLAD how that was handled!!!

Thanks!!

message 150: by Téa (new) - rated it 4 stars

Téa (teasfia) Hello Ms. Ee! :]

Are you a fan of happy endings? If so, will Penryn and the End of Days be possibly having a happy ending? Something like.. oh I don't know, the angels going away, and Raffe and Penryn finding a way to be together forever and ever?? :D

Ooh speaking of which, I know this is a long shot, but is Penryn possibly a nephilim..? :)
