Publication date obviously wrong

I found a Kindle edition of the classic by Dumas with a publication date obviously wrong (1846!): it may be the date of the edition that was scanned for this ebook.

Amazon doesn't help, because it says "1846"; where can I find a correct date and, if I can't fix, can I delete this date?

Oh I've seen that a lot with OCR scanned editions too - there seems to be some publishers who think that the pub date for a scan is that of the original... Bah! :)
