I've not read it yet, but the reviews look promising.
Forgotten scripture, death and madness.
Comparisons to Poe and King... sound like it might ..."
I've heard this was good! Definitely sounds like something this group would be into. We can see if the comparisons to Poe and King stand up ;)
Let's give the other members a few more days to make some other suggestions and hopefully we can start on something soon. Need my Gothic fix!

I was thinking of putting up this book for the rest of December;

It has a Christmas-y vibe, but it's horror. Thought it would be (mostly) in-keeping with the holidays coming up. That way, this group doesn't stay stagnant until we chose something here. Thoughts?

Interesting fact about NOS 4R2 though, written by Stephen King's son!

Since you brought up Neil Gaiman I thought you, and everyone else, might be interested in a recent short film based on a story he wrote. Here's the link;

I'm enjoying NOS 4R2, but you are right, it's more violent than a suspense sort of horror. Definitely a fast-paced adventurous read. The main character is an anti-hero and yes, fills that "strong-female" role.
The Asylum sounds good. Has my vote. Do I detect some Woman in White references? :P

I actually didn't end up putting NOS 4R2 as an option for the poll! There wasn't too much enthusiasm for it here and it's more of a Christmas time read anyways. Probably too depressing to read in Jan, even though Christmasland is not such a wonderful place in the book. :)
