Elizabeth Kelly (elizabethkelly) | 68 comments Hi there,

I'm having an issue with one of my books where it has the wrong author profile attached to it. Instead of my profile it has a different Elizabeth Kelly.

The book is "The Rancher's Daughter" and it's being shown as belonging to the Elizabeth Kelly who wrote "Apologize, Apologize".

This happened in the past with my book "Tempted" and it was fixed - I'm hoping someone can help me fix this one now! :)

Thanks in advance for your advice/help.

Z-squared | 8575 comments fixed. FYI, Goodreads uses extra spaces to disambiguate authors with otherwise identical names. To distinguish you from other Elizabeth Kellys of the world, your name should be entered as Elizabeth^^^Kelly where ^ is a space. The extra spaces don't appear anywhere on the book pages themselves, it's just a behind-the-scenes issue when editing book pages.

Elizabeth Kelly (elizabethkelly) | 68 comments Thank you so much! I knew that it needed the extra space because of the issue before but I've never actually added any of my own books which is why I didn't add the three spaces myself. To be honest, I'm not exactly sure how my books show up on Goodreads without me adding them but they always do.

I'm assuming it's magic. ;)

Z-squared | 8575 comments i've always assumed it was a consortium of nerdy elves and bookish fairies.

or, you know, auto imports from big databases and loyal readers who happen to be goodreads users ;)

Elizabeth Kelly (elizabethkelly) | 68 comments Elves and fairies - definitely. :)

Just for the future - is there a way that I can make this change if I'm not the one who added the book? I looked earlier but couldn't figure it out.

Thank you again for your help!

Cheers,

Elizabeth

Nucking Futs the Fire Fairy Book-a-holic (firefairyholic) | 348 comments You have to ask a librarian to do it for you. Just post a request on this group. Don't worry lots of librarians are willing to help so it will be fixed in no time. :)
