Sarah | 18550 comments Yes it is good to have a lighter read to swap to when the going gets tough in another!

message 152: by Peggy (new)

Peggy (pebbles84) | 15868 comments How do you like The Help so far Sarah?

message 153: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 18550 comments I am absolutely loving it. I'm listening to the audio which is fantastic. I'm zipping through it pretty quickly! Can't believe I waited so long to read it. I wasn't sure what it would be like after all the hype but so far it's living up to it!

message 154: by Janice, Moderator (new)

Janice (jamasc) | 59893 comments I had it on my bookshelf for ages before I finally read it. As soon as I finished it, I rented the movie!

message 155: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 18550 comments Just finished The Help on audio which was amazing. 5 stars and it's made it on to my favourites list! So pleased I read it.

message 156: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 18550 comments I think I might rent the movie out soon.

message 157: by Janice, Moderator (new)

Janice (jamasc) | 59893 comments The movie is really good too - does justice to the book.

message 158: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 18550 comments That's good to hear Janice!

I wonder whether the author Kathryn Stockett is writing any other books! I think she is a talented writer.

message 159: by Laura (new)

Laura (apenandzen) | 3367 comments I'm glad you enjoyed it, Sarah. I've not seen the film but loved the book!

message 160: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 18550 comments I feel sad now that I've finished the book I enjoyed it that much!

message 161: by Laura (new)

Laura (apenandzen) | 3367 comments Those are the best kind! Although that kind of book is hard to follow tho.

message 162: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 18550 comments Just finished another chunkster Allegiant which I have mixed feelings about. Good ending to the series I suppose, but I think the first book Divergent was my favourite. Wow - I finished two chunksters in the same day!

message 163: by Janice, Moderator (new)

Janice (jamasc) | 59893 comments I saw the movie version of Divergent this afternoon. I read the book last year. I'm not sure I will continue the series right away. Too many other books on the go.

message 164: by Cherie (new)

Cherie (crobins0) | 21536 comments I liked the movie and the book for The Help too. I felt the same way about Divergent and Allegiant as you Sarah and I thought the movie for Divergent was well done.

@Janice - if you do not get to the next books in the Divergent series any time soon, no worry. The first was the best, by far.

message 165: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 18550 comments I would like to see the Divergent movie - I think I'll wait for the DVD though. I liked the first one as I really liked the Dauntless faction and their thrill seeking - it was an action packed book. But then it tailed off - I think they'd make interesting movies though perhaps. I thought Allegiant was a bit samey compared with Insurgent.

message 166: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 18550 comments Finished my fourth book of Mickey's - Kinslayer on audio which is the second in the Lotus Wars series. I think I preferred the first book as I got a bit lost in this one but it may have been just because it was an audiobook. I did enjoy it though.

message 167: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 18550 comments I've had a few days off from chunksters but now I'm starting The Angel's Game which is my penultimate Mickey's chunkster! I really liked the first book so I'm excited about reading this one.

message 168: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 18550 comments Finished The Angel's Game so now I just have one book left in Mickey's!

message 169: by Janice, Moderator (new)

Janice (jamasc) | 59893 comments Woohoo! I have two books left in Mickey's and one of those two are almost finished.

message 170: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 18550 comments I feel like I have Marched through Mickey's much quicker than I went through Slick's! Which is good! I'm going to read a couple short books now and then start my final Mickey's book.

message 171: by Peggy (new)

Peggy (pebbles84) | 15868 comments Way to go Sarah! My Marchers also seem to be going much faster than my Slugs.

message 172: by Marnie (new)

Marnie (marnie19) | 3259 comments Nice!

message 173: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 18550 comments Just starting The Desert Spear which is my last book in Mickey's section! I loved the first book in the series and a couple short stories based in the same world so I am really excited about this one.

message 174: by Camilla (new)

Camilla | 2100 comments Why oh why do I keep looking at other people's chunkster lists! Now I have yet another book on my TBR shelf (actually marked the first one in the series).

message 175: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 18550 comments Yes it is a hazard indeed Camilla! The first one, The Warded Man (my version was called The Painted Man but same thing) I flew through and loved it so much. I love the magic system in the book and all the different types of demons.

message 176: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 18550 comments Woohoo! Just finished Mickey's Marchers with my favourite book of the year - The Desert Spear! So good!

message 177: by Marnie (new)

Marnie (marnie19) | 3259 comments Great job on completing Mortimer's :)! Nice to end on a section on a high note.

message 178: by Janice, Moderator (new)

Janice (jamasc) | 59893 comments It's so awesome to finish a section with a 5 star book. :)

message 179: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 18550 comments Definitely! I seemed to move through this section quicker too. I am really looking forward to my Roadrunner's reads!

message 180: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 18550 comments Had to resort to using the fruit machine to pick which book I wanted to read out of my Roadrunner's list. They all look sooo good! And the winner is........Red Seas Under Red Skies which I only just slotted in to my list after picking it up in the charity shop on Thursday.

message 181: by Lisa (new)

Lisa (lisathebooklover) | 9244 comments Enjoy it Sarah! :)

I read it in my Slug. Have fun!

message 183: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 18550 comments Wow the prologue has knocked me for six so I need to read on!

Janice (jamasc) | 59893 comments Sarah wrote: "Wow the prologue has knocked me for six so I need to read on!"

That sounds intriguing!

message 185: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 18550 comments It's just like King where he hints at what's to come. The prologue is a precarious situation and I want to know if it's real or part of one of their cons.

Esther (nyctale) | 5191 comments Sarah wrote: "It's just like King where he hints at what's to come. The prologue is a precarious situation and I want to know if it's real or part of one of their cons."
He he....
I know....
Honestly, i believe i enjoyed this one more than the 1st one.

message 187: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 18550 comments It's early days yet but the book has started much better than the first one. I vaguely remember thinking the first one was slow starting but maybe with this one I'm excited to be back in that world and reacquainting with the characters I know and love. I'm wondering whether I will have to wait until the end of the book for my question to be answered or whether it will come sooner.

message 188: by Janice, Moderator (new)

Janice (jamasc) | 59893 comments One of the things I like about series is that I can relax and know my beloved character will survive because there's another book following. Locke might be in a precarious situation, but there's book 3. :) It's the last book in the series that's an unknown. LOL!

message 189: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 18550 comments Very true Janice!

message 190: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 18550 comments Started reading The Scar today.

message 191: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 18550 comments Just finished Red Seas Under Red Skies which was fantastic. A 5 star read for me and I liked it more than the first in the series.

Same here. The 3rd is out in PB at the end of July. I will have to reshuffle my chunckster list again....

message 193: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 18550 comments I thought the third book was already out. Off to check now.

It is out. The paperback edition is coming out. Well, for me anyway,

message 195: by Travis (new)

Travis (travistousant) | 6011 comments I read The Republic of Thieves as soon as it was released. It was my least favorite. I hope you two find it more enjoyable than I did.

message 196: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 18550 comments Ah I see. I'll probably get it on my kindle although it's still a little pricey at the moment so i'll wait a month or too.

message 197: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 18550 comments Started another chunkster today - Age of Iron which I hadn't been planning on but as I received it through NetGalley for review and it's just over 500 pages, I thought I'd sneak it in. It does sound interesting!

message 198: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 18550 comments just finished reading The Scar which I really enjoyed.

message 199: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 18550 comments Started Cloud Atlas so I have two chunksters on the go at the moment. So far I'm not liking Cloud Atlas so I may end up swapping it out and having to rejig my section. We shall see.

message 200: by Travis (new)

Travis (travistousant) | 6011 comments After many looks I see most of friends disliked Cloud Atlas with the exception of 2 5 stars. I crossed it off my list permanently
