Bella Swan!! She is by far the most pathetic character in a novel. Nothing but whining.
Thats is sooooooooo true.She is always whinning about something in the first two books then she finally stops whinning all the time.
I think if we could give an award for most annoying character, Bella Swan would win hands down ;)

Also I have to say I find the darkling from shadow and smoke series annoying and stupid
I find Maureen for The Mortal Instruments series the most annoying character I've read in a long time. I guess that's expected, since you're supposed to hate the villain but I've always found her way too weird. In my opinion, she's a useless villain in the story. At least Sebastian/Jonathan has a reason behind his [wrong] actions and his emotional damage is an interesting trait for any villain. Anyway, I hope she's the first to die in City of Heavenly Fire.
Maureen and Simon from TMI,I have no idea why everyone prefers him over Jace. At least,Jace uses his wit and sarcasm just to hide his tortured soul while Simon is being plain annoyibg for no reason and I'm patiently waiting for Alec to (hopefullt) kill Maureen in the last book.Gale freaking Hawthorne. He's one of the worst "best friends" in the history of terrible best friends in YA books.
Piper McLean. She may not be useless after all,but she's still annoying who thinks of NO ONE but her boyfriend.
Oh,and last but not least: Jason Grace. I've trying to convince myself that non of The Seven is perfect,but there's hardly anything special about him,yet everyone finds him all cool and powerful. I loved him in The Lost Hero,missed him in The Son of Neptune,thought he was useless in The Mark of Athena and thought he was still useless in The House of Hades. Though I really liked how friendly he was trying to be with Nico when the reast of The Seven were afraid of him...
The Main character from Hopeless. All she did was cry and throw tantrums and whine.
most annoying charcters i can think as of now are; not necessarily in that order1)jace herondale: he is full of himself. his romance with clary wants me to gag. he is just there to beautify the novel.
2) clary morgenstern: she has no role at all. she is selfish and cannot for a minute not obsess over that jace.
3)daemon black: without his body to show he has nothing to himself.
4)zoe sage: attention seeking, jealous brat. need to be sent to vigourous re-education conducted by damphirs.
5) juliette whatever: whiny. bella's twin.

Totally agree with you about Zoe Sage!! I HATE her! Yeah, she needs to be tortured by some Moroi powers--maybe Adrian could send her torturous, debilitating nightmares every time she falls asleep?!
Hate to say that I don't mind the other people on your list... Jace and Clary can be irritating (especially in CofFA!), but I still like them. And I'm pretty attached to Daemon Black :)

i know lots of ppl love jace and daemon but i am not in their fan club. wish authors will write more original stuff than rip off other successful books.
