Janice (jamasc) | 59894 comments The tazmanian devil has devoured the first book in that section - Inferno.

Janice (jamasc) | 59894 comments I just have two books left to the Tasmanian Devil Trouncers. I forgot to update that I finished The Valley of Amazement. It was not my favourite Amy Tan book, but still good.

I just finished The Wine of Angels. It wasn't originally on my list, but was over 500 pages, so I swapped out Feed for it. Feed will have to go to the next section.

Janice (jamasc) | 59894 comments Cutting for Stone is done! Yeah! This books completes my Around The World challenge started in 2012. It also checks one more book of my Left-Over Stew challenge. Moving right along.

Janice (jamasc) | 59894 comments I finally finished Kushiel's Dart at over 1000 pages. That means that I finished Tazmanian Trouncers.

It's doubtful that I will finish Buzz's section. I have some other challenges that I want to finish up in the 2 months left in 2014. I want to be finished the left-over stew challenge so it doesn't carry over into 2015. I'm afraid it will grow botulism.

Theresa~OctoberLace (octoberlace) | 1090 comments Congrats on your finish of Tazmanian Trouncers! It's hard to believe we've only got 2 months left to 2014, too.

Janice (jamasc) | 59894 comments I know. This year has zipped by. Scary!

Cherie (crobins0) | 21536 comments Congratulations on finishing Tazz and your AtW challenge, Janice! That was a lot of long books. But - great reading!

Janice (jamasc) | 59894 comments Thanks Cherie. I'll probably add books to Buzz as I read them, and then try desperately to link them. But, I have two books on the old alphabet challenge and two book on the cross Canada challenge to read by the end of the year, because I do not ever want to look at those challenges again. Ever.

Suzanne | 1255 comments Congrats on finishing the Taz section! You had some great books there - Cutting for Stone is one of my favorites, and I do enjoy Amy Tan (although I have yet to read The Valley of Amazement)

Laura (apenandzen) | 3367 comments Wow, you way surpassed what you thought you could do, didn't you, Janice? Way to go!

Yes! If I compare this challenge to past challenges (including those that shall not be named), I accomplished a lot more than I thought I would. I realized somewhere along the line that I do read a lot of chunksters, and maybe that's why.

Suzanne - I enjoyed both books, Cutting for Stone and Valley of Amazement.

Pragya (reviewingshelf) | 4026 comments Those are some chunksters indeed. Well done you. I really did hope to get some chunksters off my list thanks to this challenge. But it didn't help. I have chunkster phobia, I guess.

Janice (jamasc) | 59894 comments I have to admit that I shy away from the really big ones, like over 1000 pages. I had noted Kushiel's Dart at 750 pages, but the most popular version is over 1000 pages. I don't know how different editions can be so vastly different in page numbers. The hardcover is 750, and paperback over 1000... I listened to the audiobook and it was 13 hours long. Weird.
