Laura Doemel This book teaches a great lesson in an interesting way. It is about the unconditional love that the tree has for the boy. The illustrations help to show how much the tree really gives to the boy and I think kids would enjoy this story.

this book is sooo cute!!!

Vanessa It is a beautiful story, to me about a parent's love and sacrifice for their child. But I must say it made both of my children SO ANGRY at what they felt was a selfish, ungrateful boy/man who never gave anything back. One that they both need to re-read as adults with their own children I think - it will all make sense to them then!

Sarah I don't think you can teach unconditional love.

Anastasia Kallah The classic green book is gentle parable of love, its simplicity in Tree’s depth of feeling and devotion to Boy, the object of her affection, and its complexity hidden in the disturbing truth that we have the potential to give ourselves in love, even as it consumes us, and in the circular pattern in which life always bring us home.

Janis Drayton This book was about a tree who was happy when the boy was in his presence. As long as the boy was in his presence , even if he was taking from him, the tree was happy. In the end, the boy ended up giving back to the tree by sitting and resting on him, in his presence.
