I am new to the Goodreads game but will be honest with feedback on if I considered it engaging, enjoyable, and if I could sympathize with the character(s). I will also keep in mind the flow, and plot while deciding if I would read a sequel if there was one. I am not an editor nor pretend to be one. If there are errors I catch surely I will tell you but that is about as far as I can go with that.

I would be happy to beta read. I actually just graduated with a B.A. in English and am wanting to get some more editing and reviewing experience before I start looking for a job in publishing. The only experience I have so far is when I had to critique papers in a creative writing course I took. Message me if you're interested. I'd love to help :)

My name is Diana Hockley, I have a BA in English Lit and History and am an Australian granny and writer of crime/romance/family. I edit for Kings River Life online magazine, occasionally tutor writing workshops for U3A and was a reviewer and active participant on the Next Big Writer worldwide workshop site. I also review for NetGalley and privately for other writers.

Pouncing on anomalies in plots and characterisation are my specialities and although I am not wanting to edit, I probably won't be able to help myself for pointing out repetitions and glaring errors - if any! Though my spelling in this message clearly shows that I use "Queens" English, I am quite comfortable with American.
I can do one novel at a time to fit in with my own writing schedule and other reviewing, if anyone would like to email me: cadfael88@gmail.com

I've just completed my first (125.000 words) novel and would love for it to be beta read. I've read/checked and edited it several times now and I just can't see the flaws myself anymore. Perhaps your fresh eyes can offer me a first impression on the plot and style of writing.
It's a YA/Fantasy/Science Fiction/Romance story (not sure what genre to place it) in which four young people learn they are not entirely human and have reincarnated to complete a mission that was initiated around the Sumerian time-line. They are the only four alike in this world but soon realise that each has their own agenda. If you're interested to know more and you're not already booked up, I'd be happy to email you a few chapters. I welcome honest yet humane critique.
